    As soon as I tried to save it I got a parse/syntax error. Should there be a closing single quote somewhere on that line?

    I disabled all other plugins and set Twenty Fourteen as the default theme but no luck.

    I’ve never had an issue doing a copy/paste before but I can’t get this one to work.

    Alrighty! Thank you for pointing out the obvious. While my styles.css file was being used in the child theme the functions.php file was not named functions. Doh!

    So this fix (to move the ticket form) is working just fine when I have a properly named functions.php file!

    Yes, I see that it works!
    A follow up to that. Can the default option be set so its always visible in the catalog? And of course does it effect the ticket notification/tracking process in any way if someone purchased it via the standard /shop listing and not the /events listing?
