Thanks for your help brook! I just got back on this project and most of the issues seem to be resolved. I added the widget class to the widget elements and version 2.0.4 of the NEXGen Gallery has resolved the jQuery conflict. Thanks again!

Hi Brook, thanks for your help. I already had the snippet to resolve the ajax issue installed which did help with resolving changing to the next or previous month on the full size calendar. However it did not fix the next/previous month issue on the calendar widget. The events are still a no-show. I added the body class function as you said. I tried switching to the 2013 theme and still no events. While disabling other plugins I found that the NexGen Gallery version 2.0.21 seems to be conflicting with the Events Calendar. After disabling the NexGen plugin, the events do show up, but the widget calendar shows a loading symbol that does not go away. Do you know what the conflict may be?
