Can you give step by step details as to how?

There’s not too much to tell – it is configured in the Settings→ Redirect admin screen (added by that plugin), with / as the old URL and /events as the new URL. Does that help at all?

If not, remember that there are probably a number of other plugins out there that do something similar and you could always try a few out and find one you feel comfortable with.
