ParticipantI recently posted on this thread: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/wp-admin-login-page-disappears/ but my question was marked answered when it wasn’t, and I haven’t heard any response to my followup.
The problem is when I go to log into my WordPress dashboard, it simple redirects me to the website home page. I’ve been having to remove the Community plugin altogether in order to access my dashboard, then reuploading it. When I try labeerbloggers.org/wp-admin.php as suggested in the above thread, I get a 404 Page Not Found error.
I originally thought it was an issue with spammers, but I got that under control. I also do have the “Block access to WP dashboard” option selected.
Please, please help as it’s been a few days since posting my original question and I’m stalled on some projects because of this issue.
Thanks in advance!

MemberHi – thanks for reposting in this forum – it’s genuinely appreciated 🙂
Was your issue essentially the same as that described by Pamela Mulka in the same thread? Are you able to login via yoursite.com/wp-login.php (rather than …/wp-admin or …/wp-admin.php)?

ParticipantExactly as described and cannot login with the alternative url. The only way I can log in is by removing the plugin altogether.
Thanks!July 13, 2014 at 12:00 am #365435Barry
MemberThanks for confirming – which roles have you blocked and am I right in thinking you are attempting to login as an admin user?
Can you also try the following steps:
- Please deactivate all other plugins but The Events Calendar and Community Events
- Change your theme to a default, unmodified one such as Twenty Thirteen
- Visit your-site.com/wp-login.php and try to login using an administrator-level user account\
Are you now able to login?

ParticipantI wasn’t able to take the site down long enough to see if it’s a conflict with the theme, unfortunately. I did do it for a day but I was able to log in just fine, although 24 hours isn’t really long enough for that sort of thing to start happening. I know I’m not the only one who has this issue so I’m hoping we can find another way to narrow down the issue!

MemberOK: in this case, could I ask for you to create an administrator-level user account and share the login/password and URL for me here? I’d just like to run a quick test if possible (and if you’re happy to do this, please share the credentials as a private reply).
Thanks!

Member… One other approach would be to test things out on a test site rather than your live site. This could be as simple as setting up WordPress in a subdirectory and, initially, adding only The Events Calendar and Community Events.
Configure them as they are on your live site and see if they same problem occurs. If there’s no problem, start adding each of the plugins that you have on your live site and ultimately your theme – testing at each stage to see if you can identify the seat of the conflict.
Would that be possible here?

ParticipantHi guys,
Just an update on this. I contacted the theme developers and here’s what they said:
“This issue has absolutely nothing to do with the theme as the theme is used only on the frontend, it does not control the access to WordPress dashboard in anyway. The best idea would be to contact the plugin developer, he would be in best position to help you.”August 1, 2014 at 4:17 pm #560678Barry
MemberOK – and were you able to run through the process described previously?

Did that help at all in getting to the bottom of this? I appreciate the theme dev’s feedback but it is still worth doing some basic troubleshooting as another plugin could be impacting or there may even be something the theme dev hasn’t considered.
What I can say is that I’m unable to replicate this and it’s not something we’re seeing widespread reports of, so on face value it certainly is shaping up to be a conflict of some kind.

ParticipantI am experiencing the same problem – I have pinpointed the problem to be with the Community Events plugin. I can still access the wp-login.php page – but cannot access the /wp-admin page – it redirects to the root URL – Do we have a fix ?? I have tested this in development and production…

Today on the phone I pushed thought the plugins on & off & all kind of combinations…and yes…community events. Thank you all very much.
