ParticipantSurprising functionality to be missing. Couldn’t it just retrieve the CSV, post to CSV upload form?

MemberHi.
I believe you’re requesting the same thing as one of our existing feature requests: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/8088102-add-the-ability-to-import-csv-files-via-a-web-addr
Please reference the staff response there, but also feel free to still add your vote.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

ParticipantThat page suggests that we purchase Events Aggregator, which doesn’t solve the problem 🙂

MemberI’ve updated that response to be clearer and copied it here:
If you’re looking to copy events from one site running The Events Calendar to another site running The Events Calendar, our Event Aggregator add-on can do this.
If you’re instead looking for The Events Calendar / Event Aggregator to import CSVs via URL, WP All Import (or a similar plugin) should be a viable option for you:
Thanks for helping us get a clearer response there.
All that being said, I’d guess a CSV via a URL isn’t terribly different than what we do now (upload it and get the file path, in just skimming the code).
Out of curiosity, would all of your CSV URL(s) be publicly-accessible where anyone with the link could get it?

ParticipantThank you. Yes, we would likely integrate it with Google Sheets. It’s easy to publish those as CSVs to a public (if obfuscated) URL.

MemberI posted this new feature request: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/31789591-ability-to-perform-a-csv-import-from-any-url
And I modified the previous one we discussed to be specific to importing from one site running The Events Calendar to another, which is already possible via Event Aggregator.
Please vote and comment (optional) for this new idea… until then, giving WP All Import a try might be the best option for right now. If you do try it, please share your feedback about it.

ParticipantThanks, we’ll give that a shot.
We are already using All Import in some other contexts; this seems like a lot of fields to wire up.
Also exploring the option of adding a Google Apps Script that appears as a menu item in Docs and logs into WP and just uploads the CSV.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
