    Howdy Robert,

We have now purchased an account from GoDaddy to try and reproduce this issue. Indeed, when we run Event Tickets Plus on their hosting platform the bug can be reproduced. According to some other users this happened after GoDaddy updated their PHP Version.

Now that we can reproduce the issue, we can start trying to find a fix for it. Typically, a fix will get bundled with an upcoming version of the plugins. Likely, the fix will be included with version 4.4.3 of our plugins, which is due in 2-3 weeks. Although it is possible that the fix might require GoDaddy to change something on their end, or something else unusual.

I have added your topic to the bug report, so you will get notified as soon as a fix is ready. Thank you so much for taking the time to help us narrow this down. Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Cheers!

    – Brook

    Good afternoon Robert,

I am sorry about the delay answering back.
Somehow the fact that this ticket’s status is “pending fix” made it go under our radar.

In any case, we do support PHP 5.4+ .
To clarify my colleague Brook’s statement,  I do not believe that this is related to the PHP version itself.

What we know for sure is that this impacts our users with GoDaddy web hosting and, that in certain cases, this started happening right after a PHP update.

For now, it’s only a correlation, not necessarily a cause.
Until we pinpoint the exact cause, it is anybody’s guess.

It could be the package of a certain PHP version, certain GoDaddy security settings interfering, or something else we are not aware of.

We are actively working on a fix for this and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, if you want to see if changing PHP versions helps, you are more than welcome.
However, depending on the plan you are on, I would advise caution. Sometimes it is not possible to revert back to a previous version after such an upgrade.

Hang in there as we fix this and let us know if you find anything on your end.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Howdy Robert,

Late last week this problem reportedly went away for those affected. In all of our recent tests the problem has gone away on our GoDaddy test server as well.

I wanted to double check with you, are you still having issues collecting attendee meta on new purchases? Unfortunately during the outage none of the data collected would have been saved to your database. While we were not able to determine what GoDaddy did to prevent it from saving, we have confirmed that the data is completely missing. However, if the issue has gone away on your site as well, then any tickets sold from today forward should contain the attendee meta data.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Cheers!

    – Brook

I moved the site to another host and it has been working fine. My client’s event is this weekend, so we couldn’t wait for a fix.

I’m not sure if I’ll move it back to GoDaddy. They’re also going to be scanning QR codes on the tickets and the new host is MUCH faster.

    Thanks for following up.
