ParticipantI have to click the “View As” box to see the options – Month, List and Photo – otherwise it will just display the current view. Is this normal? I see it happens on other people’s sites as well, not just mine. If it’s normal it’s not very intuitive.

MemberI tried visiting your site just to check it’s nothing unusual however the links to the event calendar lead me to a subdomain featuring what I take to be a calendar generated by a different plugin or app.
However, I believe what you are describing is expected (if you are on month view, that becomes the default value of the view selector). Assuming that is indeed what you find unintuitive we’re definitely interested in hearing your ideas on improving things – and would recommend posting your thoughts on our UserVoice page – the great thing about this is that other users can then indicate their support or embellish your idea with additional suggestions.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks Barry – the calendar using your plugin is not connected to the nav yet as we are not finished setting it up. It’s here http://whanganuinz.com/events
It seems to me that if you’re already in (say) month view, it would be useful to have the other choices (photo and list) showing as options without having to click the box to make them appear. Most users, I reckon, wouldn’t think to click the box because it’s not obvious that doing so would reveal more options.
I’ll post in the UserVoice page as well.

MemberOK, well please do post in UserVoice and we’ll definitely consider it. Speaking for myself, I don’t find this unintuitive at all but we’re absolutely open to feedback and hopefully other users can weigh in.
I would add as a final note, if we decide not to press ahead with a change here you could certainly change the layout and nature of that control by customizing it – so that’s always an option.

ParticipantCheers Barry, I’ve posted in UserVoice. I did notice that others had mentioned the same thing so it’s not just me!
