    Hi,

I installed the PRO plugin on my staging site. All of the Venue urls are http://bungalower.staging.wpengine.com/venue/

If I open the venue and save it it will create the proper slug.
If I bulk edit all of the venues and “publish” them the Venue slugs are updated but the venue name is now blank.

Is there a way to regenerate all of the slugs without having to open each venue and save?

I did attempt to update the permalink settings to se if this would regenerate and it did not.

Hi…I’m looking to make the upgrade soon and it would be great to know if there is a better way to update the slugs than to open and save each venue. Here’s where you can see all of the incorrect venue URLs http://bungalower.staging.wpengine.com/events/

Hi there matsokoloff. I apologize that we took until now to get you a reply on this, and from the sounds of it that we may have delayed your upgrade by failing to get you a response in as timely a fashion as possible.

This is a really weird behavior, and admittedly you’re the first person I’ve ever seen report it. I’m assuming you’re creating these venues from within events, and rather than under Venues -> Add New on the backend? I’m wondering if something is simply preventing the venue slug from saving adequately.

Does this occur even after you flush your permalinks? Can you confirm once more that this occurs even in the most stripped down, basic environment (no other plugins + Twenty Thirteen)? The reason I ask is that even there I’m unable to recreate.

Let me know, though, and I can try to troubleshoot in as timely a fashion as possible from there.

Hey Rob. No worries. I ended up just opening each venue and organizer and saving…wasn’t too bad. 🙂

If you want to recreate because I do think there is a bug…I realized that it’s most likely caused by the Facebook Events plugin. All of those events, venues and organizers were created with the FB Events Plugin on the community version and then I added the PRO version.

    Thanks.

So I upgraded and fixed all of the existing venues but now new venues and organizers that come from the FB Plugin also don’t have URLs. On my staging site I removed all plugins exept event cal, events cal pro. events cal FB and Events cal filters bar.

When importing new events from facebook the venues and orgainzers don’t have URLs unless I open each one and publish.

    To recreate:
    – Add a facebook page into the settings area for import
    – My settings are to import to pending
    – Go to events –> Facebook and select the events to import
    – Open each event and click publish

Here is one of the pages that had the issue for me although it appears to be ANY new venue or organizer:
    TrackShackRun

    Hi Matt,

Can you clarify which URL I should be looking at (re TrackShackRun) – you can do this using our private reply facility if you prefer not to expose the URL publicly.

    Thanks!

You can look at any of the events that came in with that facebook page. For example:
    http://bungalower.staging.wpengine.com/event/seasons-52-park-ave-5-2k-presented-by-florida-hospital/
The organizer AND venue urls do not work.
If I go in and open the venue (or organizer) on the backend I can see that the url is just: http://bungalower.staging.wpengine.com/venue/ (or /organizer/)
If I click “Update” it will update with a URL. The venue and organizer are already published….just with no URL slug.

    Hope that helps you replicate.

That’s definitely odd – and I can see it on your site (thanks for providing those URLs) – but it isn’t something I can replicate on a “stock installation” of our plugins.

I do appreciate you noted that you tried reverting to a default, unmodified theme and at the same time deactivated all non-Modern Tribe plugins – however can you confirm what the outcome of this test was? If it still occurs in those circumstances, would you be in a position to create a new WordPress installation in a sub-directory within the same hosting environment, set up only our plugins and nothing else and see if you can replicate there?

This would help us to determine if the problem is environmental in nature or if it might be a conflict with another component, be it your theme or another plugin.

    Thanks!

I don’t have a place to do that (have third party hosting where I cant add another installation) but if you do I’m happy to replicate there or provide you a login to our staging environment.

    A couple of quick points:
    – You started with importing events from facebook with the free version of events cal then upgraded to events cal pro
    – You tested with importing new events from new organizers from Facebook to “pending” status and then published the event and it works?
    – Filters Bar beta and Community events are both activated
Also here are my Events Cal Facebook Import Settings: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/cd0b3d50-cf56-4aba-aff5-0cc7f1d29e61/38670ee4e0decd1c6a7ce5ac9ff98995

I didn’t actually use the core version without PRO when I tried to replicate this originally.

If I do, however, I still can’t replicate this problem – regardless of whether I publish before I activate PRO or after. I do indeed have Community Events active but not the beta filters plugin: if you think that may be a trigger for what you’re experiencing please try replicating this issue without having it activated.

I don’t have a place to do that (have third party hosting where I cant add another installation) but if you do I’m happy to replicate there

I’m sorry but we can’t provide a replica environment – and supposing we could we would of course need to know what sort of environment you have and be capable of provisioning it – but that is way out of the scope of what we can do for you here on the support forums.

Can you answer my question about the outcome of your initial tests, with only the minimum necessary plugins (The Events Calendar, Facebook Events) and a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve) activated were?
