    Hey guys,

I just installed Event Calendar Pro on my website. I am using WPML for two languages (English and German). Everything works fine in English, but in German, the map view does not work. I have now found out why, yet I do not know how to solve this…

FYI, The link to the German calendar is:
    http://dqs-cfs.com/de/events/

The link to the English calendar is:
    http://dqs-cfs.com/events/

If in the German version I click on “View as Map”, I am send to the following URL:
    http://dqs-cfs.com/de/events/Karte/

This results in a 404. The correctly working URL is slightly different: http://dqs-cfs.com/de/events/map/

How can I solve this? Please bear in mind that I have no coding skills whatsoever.

Hi, Sied. In the past 4 months, 2 other users have reported this as well, but it’s not classified as a high priority bug.

I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.

I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

Thank you for your reply. Given that I just paid 300 USD, it is not quite the answer I was hoping for though.

I have encountered another serious problem. The calendar for no apparent reasons switches between the German and English version.

In the attached screenshot, you can see I am on the German version of my website. The search and filter bar display in their German version. Yet everything below the filter bar, starting with the words “Events for November 2017” is English – not just the words, but also the events themselves.

I am growing increasingly desperate. This is definitely not the kind of experience I was hoping for.

… and another issue. If in month view I click on the link to one of our GRI Training sessions, I am sent to the following link:

    http://dqs-cfs.com/event/gri-standards-certified-training-2-tage/2017-11-28/

This will result in a 404, because the correct link is:

    http://dqs-cfs.com/de/event/gri-standards-certified-training-2-tage/2017-11-28/

So to sum up, map view does not work and month view does not work. Great.

Anybody still out there? Is it normal to wait four days for an answer? Given the time we invested in installing this plugin and entering the content, we’d greatly appreciate your support to fix the bugs mentioned above.

    Good afternoon Sied,

First off, I would like to apologize for the delay answering.
We are currently experiencing a higher level of requests than usual.

Please rest assured that we are working hard at correcting this situation.
We appreciate your patience while we try to normalize things.

I will be handling this request with you at my colleague Cliff’s request because of my extensive experience using our plugins alongside WPML.

I am truly sorry your experience has not been up to par so far. I would like to try to make this better.

Regarding the map view, you should be able to get things to work using string translation. Here is a 3 step guide to that:

    1. Head over to WPML > string translation > Search for the “map” string make sure ALL of these strings no matter their origin is translated (e.g.: both the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro strings).
    2. Save your permalinks
    3. Head over to WPML > Support and click on “Troubleshooting page”. Hit the “Clear WPML cache” button.

The map view should no longer return a 404 error message.

As for your second issue, this looks like a caching conflict.
I am noticing that you are using a caching plugin.

My first recommendation would be to try to remove the monthly caching view option under Events -> Settings -> Display

Secondly could you try temporarily undoing the action of your caching plugin to see if that helps.

Finally could you please tell me what happens if you refresh the page once you are on it and it does not display the proper translations ?

As for your final issue, can you confirm that this happens on the month view as well ?
I believe this is closely related to the previous issue.

As an additional test, could you tell me if the issue persists in the list view ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
