** URGENT ** /events/ somehow redirects to random post – GEOFF B

Hello,

Since we updated to 4.3.3 yesterday, we have found a serious problem

In the French version of our site,

http://cpmr.org/?lang=fr

we click on the “Events” menu item on the main menu

It is somehow redirecting us to this link (a custom post elsewhere on the site):

Events of relevance to Cohesion Policy: summary of key points

The link has not been changed in WP Menu admin

Even if you mouseover the link, the url that is shown the menu item leads to is

http://cpmr.org/fr/events/

I’ve tried refreshing permalinks a couple of times, this has not worked. Seems to be some sort of database mismatch somehow

I am sorry to hear about that really odd bug. Yikes!

That being said, as I went on your site, I am unable to replicate the issue.
It seems to be working like a charm. When I click on “Calendrier”, I am taken to the expect page.

So whatever you did, it worked! At least from where I stand.

Would you mind confirming if the issue is indeed gone on your end ?

Hey Geoff,

I logged in and edited this out as completed.

We’d changed WPML URL settings from ?lang=fr to /fr/ not updated the manually created /events/ url on the main menu. This caused the strange behaviour. Somehow!

BTW – It’s asking me to give my name and email for every reply, even though I’m logged into our account

Thank you for sharing the resolution to your issue, really good to know!
I am mostly glad you were able to figure this out.

As for the issue replying in our forums, I will totally check this out on my end.
I know that sometimes the site “kicks people out” at times.
