    Hi,

to whom it may concern: I’m on the way to update the German translation as there are some strings missing.

    Regards

Did it, here is the download link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/59409224/tribe-events-calendar-de_DE_v3.10.zip
About 70 strings have been edited, hope I did it all well.
Feedback or change requests are welcome.

    But I have some questions:

    1. From my point of view the product name ‘The Events Calendar’ should never be changed nor translated, or?
Example: The pluginname in the plugin list in WordPress Admin.

    2. I have a problem translating ‘View 1 %1$s’ (singular) and ‘View All %2$s %3$s’ as I’m getting an error code:
‘Fehler: a format specification for argument 1, as in ‘msgstr[0]’, doesn’t exist in ‘msgid_plural’
Anyway: .po and .mo have been saved.

I’d be happy to receive a license for pro, if possible πŸ˜‰

Anyway: Thanks for ‘The Event Calendar’!!

    Best Regards
    kraeMit

Hm … I did some cleanup and updated the .po. Here is the new version:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/59409224/tribe-events-calendar-de_DE_v3.10-02.zip

I can’t get the translation for ‘%s Categories’ shown in the page (go to a event, in the ‘details’ box).
The translation string is ‘%ss-Kategorien’. In other attributes the ‘%ss-..’ works.
Seems to me the variable is not proper used in the PHP code?

Another one is ‘This %s has passed.’. If I translate it using ‘Diese %s ist abgelaufen.’ … it will show like this:
‘Diese veranstaltung ist abgelaufen.’ … but it should be ‘Diese Veranstaltung ist abgelaufen.’

The coordinates box for the Google Map needs also to be translated –> Location Event Informations.

    Hey @kraeMit,

Thanks for your contribution here. It means a lot to us!

We’re changing up our translation process a bit now and you don’t have to manually make files and submit them to us anymore.

Instead, you can go to http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects and download the most recent version of both .mo and .po files for your language by using the “export” link at the bottom-left corner of a translation page, see this screenshot for reference β†’ https://cloudup.com/cf9TWr6vHtR

If you want to make changes to that translation, make a translator account by signing up at http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/wordpress/wp-login.php?action=register

Once you make an account and log into the site, you should be able to submit translations for individual strings right on the site!

If approved, they’ll be included immediately in the translation.

    Thanks!
    George

Puuh, this means I have to edit all the strings again?

    Hey @kraeMit,

You will not have to edit all strings again, only specific strings you notice are problematic. We’ve just launched a whole new process for translations and have two write-ups for it here:

Changing the Language on Your Calendar

    And here:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-or-updating-a-translation/

Hopefully both articles will bring you up to speed on our new translations site – let us know if they do, or if you have any other questions or concerns! πŸ™‚

    Thanks,
    George

I have a small problem: How can I export a set of *.po / .mo files including my changes to be able to test it (means status current + waiting)?

    Can you please advise?

I’d like to suggest a function here in the forum: Send a mail if a thread has been updated.

    Hey kraeMit,

To answer your questions in reverse, we do have a general Email system in place for the support forums that ping users via email when their threads are updated. It’s been having some issues recently but we’re releasing a fix soon.

As for exporting .mo and .po files, there is an “Export” link on the bottom-left corner of translations pages on the new translations site. You have to export a .mo file and then a .po file individually, but unfortunately, at this time there is not a way to include pending translations in the exports.

However, if there is an error with one of your translations, the left border of the table row for that specific string should be highlighted red right on the website itself.

I hope this information helps. Cheers!

    Hi George and Marcus.
To export po’s and mo’s with waiting approval phrases you have to set a filter (left upper corner of the translation page).
Set it to “Current/waiting/fuzzy + untranslated (All)”.
Next do the export as per George hint, but change the dropdown to “only matching the filter”.
…and you have draft po/mo files for testing purposes.

    regards
    Marcin

Thank for you that update Marcin! Great tip!

And for everyone else here – thank you for your patience! Our whole support team had a briefing on things today and tackling translations is one of our main priorities right now, if not the main priority.

Stay tuned all, thanks again for being patient with us as we roll out this new tool.
