ParticipantCurrently on WP version 4.8 using Hotelcalifornia theme 1.1.2
About two weeks ago I updated the core plugin to 4.5.8 from 4.5.5 along, with Pro version 4.4.x (don’t recall exact release, sorry). A bit later our client noticed that she could no longer create recurring events and the links to those events no longer work. I reverted back to version 4.4.5 when I read that it is recommended to keep the core and Pro version numbers on the same release (in this case 4.4). We still have Pro installed (4.4.15 now), yet the recurring events permalinks do not work and she still cannot create recurring events. Also, the [tribe_this_week] shortcode no longer works, as of two days ago.
Now the core version is up to 4.5.9 (I’m still on 4.5.8) and the highest my Pro can go is 4.4.15. Should I upgrade to 4.5.9 to fix these issues? I have this notification at the top “To begin using Events Calendar PRO, please install the latest version of The Events Calendar.” However, it was updating to 4.5.8 that caused these issues in the first place.
This is a very busy production site, so reverting to twentyseventeen and deactivating plugins has not been tried.
Please help. Thank you.

MemberHey Joel,
Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m very sorry about this issue you are experiencing. A few weeks ago we released the latest versions of The Events Calendar (TEC) and Events Calendar Pro (ECP) with a permalink update for recurring events (the permalink logic was removed from TEC and implemented on ECP instead). Please make sure both plugins are up to date.
If both plugins are up-to-date and the issue persists, please access your Dashboard and head over to Settings -> Permalinks for a permalink flush (no need to change anything, just visit the permalinks page: WordPress will automatically flush your permalinks once you visit it).
I hope this helps! If you need anything else in the meantime, please let me know and I’ll be happy to assist!
Regards,
Patricia

ParticipantThank you, Patricia. I was hesitant to go to 4.5.9 and didn’t want to chance losing any more functionality.
But, updating to 4.5.9 worked: shortcode and recurring events seem to be working again.
Thanks!
