ParticipantI just upgraded to Events Calendar PRO 3.0.1 and now my recurring events are displaying “This event has passed” even though the date is in the future – see http://www.duvaldemocrats.org/event/ibew-available/2013-07-15/ .
The Events List widget on the home page is showing the upcoming events correctly (http://www.duvaldemocrats.org), but when you click on the link it displays the “event passed” message. It was not doing this before the upgrade. It only seems to be happening on recurring events (example of a single event that does not show that message – http://www.duvaldemocrats.org/event/beaches-democrats-3/ ).
We host with WPEngine and have cleared the cache and that had no effect.
Please don’t ask me to deactivate other plugins or reset the theme. This is a live site and that is not possible to do. The issue is not with another plugin; it’s with the upgrade to 3.0.1.
Thank you for your assistance.

MemberHi there,
I’m sorry we haven’t been in touch with a reply here. We’ve been inundated with support requests as more people update to 3.0, so we are a little behind our usual 24-hour window for responses. We do not do support over the weekend, but we will be in touch here with a more substantial reply as soon as possible.
In the meantime, some of these tips might be helpful:
* Double check your Plugin page for updates. We’ve just released our latest maintenance release. As of 7/12, the most current versions are The Events Calendar 3.0.1 and Events Calendar PRO 3.0.2.
* If you’re experiencing a problem with links, try resetting and resaving your permalinks.
* If the issue is with settings, try resaving your settings page- even if you haven’t changed anything.
* Having trouble with a customization done in 2.x? Be sure to check out our Themer’s Guide and documentation. You might also search the forums to see if someone else has a similar issue and has found a solution. Finally, if the problem you’re experiencing is a serious problem, you may choose to downgrade back to 2.0.11.
Thank you for your patience and support.
Best,
Leah

ParticipantSeconded! This is happening to me as well. I wanted to create a recurring event for an event that took place last week, but continues for several weeks. Because the first instance is in the past, all future recurrences say “This event has passed.”

MemberHi Duvaldemocrats
Sorry for the issues you are having with this. Just a couple of questions for us to get a little deeper. Did you have all your events set up before the upgrade to 3.0? Or are these events that have been created since the upgrade?
Kristy, did you upgrade to 3.0 too? Or is this a fresh install? Also it looks like this event has been created after you upgraded/set up the 3.0 plugin? If you can confirm, that would be really helpful.
Thank you both for your comments and hopefully we can get this resolved quickly for you.

ParticipantI just updated to The Events Calendar Version 3.0.1 and The Events Calendar PRO Version 3.0.3. I cleared the cache, but unfortunately I’m still getting “This event has passed” on a future recurring event – see http://www.duvaldemocrats.org/event/black-caucus-2-2/2013-08-06/ . Thanks.

ParticipantHi duvaldemocrats,
Is this happening on all recurring events or only some? Have you tried changing your timezone setting to either a UTC or non-UTC time?

ParticipantIt is happening for all recurring events that had been created before the upgrade to 3.0. I added a new recurring event and it does not display the “This event has passed” message.
I changed the timezone to “UTC-4” and that had no effect. Changed it back to “New York” and still the same for the existing recurring events.
I finally decided to re-save the existing recurring events and noticed that the box for “Every X months” did not have a number in it (these were custom recurrences), so I put in “1” and saved the event and now the “This event has passed” message has disappeared.

MemberHi duvaldemocrats
Thanks for the detailed update. So glad that you found the issue. I’d like to make sure that if this is an upgrade issue for other users too that we can provide a quick fix. I’m going to see if I can re-create that issue on our end. The correct behavior of the plugin is that it’s suppose to prompt you for that info. To help me recreate that do you remember what version of the plugin you were running before the upgrade?

ParticipantI was using the most recent version before 3.0, which I believe was 2.0.1? (My plugins were up-to-date before the 3.0 upgrade.)
