Tom
ParticipantBoth of my premium plugins had expired, EC Pro and Community Events. I renewed Community Events but accidentally deleted EC Pro. So I reinstalled it, renewed the licence, and inserted the licence key. Since then I am unable to add a new event using the front-end submission form.
When I choose “Add event” to add a completely new event I see a warning that “You have changed the recurrence rules of this event. Saving the event will update all future events. If you did not mean to change all events, then please refresh the page.” I have refreshed the page many times and cleared the cache, but this message persists. If I then try to add an event, it fails with a message that “Event Start Hour is required,” even although I have entered this.
If I add the event directly in the WordPress Admin backend, it is accepted without a problem.

MemberGood evening Tom and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
First off, I would like to apologize for the delay answering.
We are currently experiencing a higher level of requests than usual. Please rest assured that we are working hard at correcting this situation.
We appreciate your patience while we try to normalize things.Additionally, we are unfortunately closed on weekends, which surely did not help.
Based on these symptoms, it sounds like you might have some template customization that needs updating.
This is usually found in either the /tribe-events/ folder of your WordPress theme’s directory or in its functions.php file.
You can do a quick test to see if the problem persists while you temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen.
Or you could simply temporarily rename the /tribe-events/ folder of your WordPress theme’s directory to /z_tribe-events/
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantGeoff B,
I have a bespoke WP theme and cannot revert to the standard template, so tried changing the tribe-events folder’s name to z_tribe-events as you suggested. It has made no difference: when I go to add a new event, the “Event Time & Date” section of the input form still carries the warning “You have changed the recurrence rules of this event. Saving the event will update all future events. If you did not mean to change all events, then please refresh the page.” – PLEASE NOTE: this is happening for brand new events I am trying to enter.
There were some customizations to make certain fields required, but none of these have been changed since first install over a year ago: this has broken only since I renewed the Community licence, and at the same time accidentally deleted the Pro add-in, and then re-installed before renewing its licence.
