ParticipantWe see that there is a new version (3.7) of the Events Calendar Pro plugin. Our regular Events Calendar plugin shows as being updated to the latest, as does the Events Calendar: Community Events plugin. Events Calendar Pro, however, seems to be stuck at 3.6.1. Instead of offering to upgrade to 3.7, instead we see this message:
“The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 3.6.1. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version. Want to pair an older version?”
We don’t want to do that–instead we would like for our E.C. Pro plugin to be updated to the latest version. Are we doing something wrong?

ParticipantOther strangeness: The non-updated (3.6.1) Events Calendar Pro plug-in appears twice on the Plugins page for the Network Admin. One version is not activated, and the other one is. By the way, we are not trying to use this plugin on multiple sites; just the one. Also, and I don’t know if this is related, the Community Events plugin is activated on the network, but does not appear in the Plugins control panel for the actual site it is meant to run on, but instead only on the Network plugins page.

MemberHello hbsstudios,
Sorry you are dealing with this frustration! From the information it sounds like an update/server glitch, especially if the you have two plugins in the admin. (I’m not positive how update technically works, but I believe WP installs the new version and removes the old. In this case the original was not removed)
Are the duplicate PRO plugins identical? If one is 3.7 that would confirm my hunch.
If nothing else, you can just manually update the PRO plugin to 3.7. A small hassle, but it seems like everything is running fine. The .org plugins are much easier to auto update than external plugins.
You don’t have to pay much heed to the warning, that is just a heads up that there is an update out.
I’m not entirely certain on the functionality of Network activated plugins, I believe the functionality depends on the plugins. Some show in Network Admin, some in site admin, depending on activation. I can look more into that though.
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

Hi Blakemiller,
Thank you for posting! In this forum we try to keep our threads focused on just one user’s problem. This ensures that we are addressing your specific problem instead of a general group one, and not possibly missing anything unique your situation.
To that end, would you mind opening up a new topic here about your issue? If you could please detail in your own words exactly what your problem is (instead of just linking here), that will go a long way towards helping you get this issue resolved as fast as possible. I hope you understand our reasoning here and do not mind this extra step, we have just found it serves our users best.
Cheers!
Casey
