Participant1. “Added a new [tribe_mini_calendar] shortcode to make it easy to embed the calendar widget outside of sidebars”
Before I upgrade, can you make a page somewhere on your site – maybe just copying the contents of a blog post – and adding the [tribe_mini_calendar] shortcode right beside it?
The only demo I’d seen of it otherwise is somewhere on your site you have a jpg of the widget as part of the page…that wont do. I’d like to SEE the shortcode working if you dont mind π
Again, One of your blogs w the shortcode along side it will do. If you have parameters that would filter / modify the output, listing said features might be good for people to see…
2. Also, as shortcodes is the #1 request that you have on the uservoice, might you tweet it via your twitter account to let people know that your shortcoding is under way? Unless I missed the tweet which is entirely possible as I cant imagine you NOT publicizing this…
Thanks!

MemberHi there, Erik! Welcome back to the forums. π
Before I upgrade, can you make a page somewhere on your site β maybe just copying the contents of a blog post β and adding the [tribe_mini_calendar] shortcode right beside it?
Here’s a quick example of the shortcode being used in a blog post. Also, we do offer a full refund for all our products within 30 days of purchase. That will also give you some time to play around with the plugin to see if it fully fits your needs.
Also, as shortcodes is the #1 request that you have on the uservoice, might you tweet it via your twitter account to let people know that your shortcoding is under way?
You’re right–it’s a huge requested feature. The biggest request we get for shortcodes is to embed a full version of the calendar and that’s something we’re definitely looking into but haven’t released. You can bet that we’ll let people know when it is. π
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Cheers!

Participant1. Not sure why you say “welcome back.” I’m current and dont expire until April 22nd of 2015…at least, that what my purchase date says….
2. Are there any attributes for the tribe mini calendar shortcode?
3. [tribe_mini_calendar sortby=creationdate or sortby=time (default)] <- anything like this?
4. [tribe_mini_calendar featured=eventnumber] <- pushes that eventnumber to the top of the list – good for featured images – anything like this?
5. [tribe_mini_calendar category=apples or categorynot=apples ] <- display only “x” category or exclude certain categories – anything like this?
6. [tribe_mini_calendar not=eventnumber ] <- exclude certain items – anything like this?
7. [tribe_mini_calendar startdate=2015/05/05] default the display to a certain date on pageload <- anything like this?
8. Thanks!December 15, 2014 at 4:34 pm #919201Geoff
MemberHey there, Erik! Thanks for following up.
I was welcoming you back because you’ve posted to the forums before–not because your product license had been renewed. π
For the time being, the shortcode only outputs the mini calendar at face value. Unfortunately, there are no variables to filter the output at this time. We are working towards a bigger solution for shortcodes and the mini calendar is the first stop and is brand new in the latest release. We’ll be releasing more, for sure.
In the meantime, you might want to check out the Event Rocket plugin. It’s a third-party plugin and we don’t support it here in the forums, but it does offer the sort of shortcode functionality it sounds like you are looking for. Might be worth a look.
Cheers!
