ParticipantHi Tribe,
I have changed the “tribe-events-calendar-pro-nl_NL.po” file with the changes I would like to see in the translations. But the changes don’t show if I put them in the “…/child-theme/tribe-events/pro/lang/” folder.
I have also tried to put the .po and .mo files directly in the “…/child-theme/tribe-events/pro/ folder but nothing. The translations that I had for the free events-calendar plug-in in the “lang” folder worked fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

MemberHi Rob,
I’m actually surprised it worked first time round for you (placing The Events Calendar translations within the template override directory inside your theme) … is it possible that you also overwrote the core plugin translation in that case?
Ultimately, I don’t believe trying to override translations in this manner is something our plugins natively support, though WordPress is pretty malleable and you could probably achieve something very like this if you wanted to.

ParticipantWell, I managed to create a the following folder
“child-theme > tribe-events > lang”
and placed the “tribe-events-calendar-nl_NL.po” and its .mo equivalent inside it and that works perfectly. The only thing doesn’t work is the pro variant. If I place the “tribe-events-calendar-pro-nl_NL.po” and equivalent .mo files in that same folder it doesn’t work. Nor if I create a folder
“child-theme > tribe-events > pro > lang”
and place the pro equivalent .po and .mo files in there. So I would really like to get the pro translations working this way instead of having to edit the original one with the option of accidentally overwriting it whenever an update of Events Calendar pro is released.Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for the support and your help

ParticipantOops, I just checked it again and your absolutely right. I was mistaken because the days in the month calendar are translated into Dutch but all my manual changes are not present when I take away the dutch translations out of the default “lang” folder. I must have realized it didn’t work and already copied it in there. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Still, I would very much like it to work via the child-theme. Is this in the planning?
Thanks for your help and again appologies for the confusion.

MemberNo problem, these things happen.
I don’t believe there are currently any plans to implement this – but you’re more than welcome to post a feature request 🙂
