    Hi,

Thanks for the interest in translating our plugins.

We have this guide to adding translations.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-or-updating-a-translation/

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I added Greek – el to the Translation for Community Events.

Let me know if you wanted Greek Polytonic instead – el-po

    Cheers

    Thank you !
    Another question
As I can see I can export it in .po
Can I do this and when I finish the translation in Poedit (which is much faster for me) to send you or import the file ?

    I finished them
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpc17en87tmavut/tribe-events-community-el.mo?dl=0
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/2xmr2u5pa4gr3z2/tribe-events-community-el.po?dl=0

Maybe they will need micro adjustments, and I will make them when I see it live in the Community Events, in order to see some /s codes, etc

PS Will you write me if there is a way to import the .po .mo files on your translation site or how else do I send them to you ?

    Hi Nikos,

I have imported the po file into the translation site and it is showing Greek is now 100% translated.

You can now make all the changes there and we can approve them directly in the translation site.

Also, please email us at [email protected] and reference this ticket with a link and we can provide a coupon to give you a one year personal license of Community Events for free for doing the translation.

    Thanks

    Hi Brian

As I wrote you I translated all the phrases and they are correct 100%.
There is a possibility to need some changes in syntax, but for these changes, I need to see it live on Community Events, to see the exact syntax of the phrases.
So, I will keep in mind, when you launch the Greek version, to check it and make the necessary corrections.

As concern your offer for one year personal license of Community Events for free, thank you very much.
Omorfi Zoi (Happy life in English) is an non profit organization and you have already honored us by giving your plugins for free.

As I activate and the other plugins (FaceBook, EDD tickets) I will be happy to make these translations also 🙂

Is there a chance your offer to be 1-2 questions when we have serious questions about the plugins ?

Ok great, glad you have the plugins through the nonprofit program.

You can download the translation file and put it into the language folder of the plugin on yoursite to use right away if you like.

I have added Greek to both Facebook Events and EDD Tickets on our translation site as well if you would like to do those as well.

We maybe to help out on some questions too instead of the license. However, we are limited in supporting customizations and 3rd party compatibility issues, but can try to answer any questions you have.

    Thanks

Well the translation is tested and ready !

I had had the following problem:
When I translated all the words, I couldn’t find the page /events/community/add (because add is being replaced from the Greek word) and I was searching of what am I doing wrong.

So, I translated all the words except the word “add” otherwise we have a problem (it appears an Error 404).

This issue maybe answers also why the pages Venue and Organizer weren’t working on us and we made a lot of customization to drive them in the business we have. ( I will check it out next week and I will mail you).

    The files are:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpc17en87tmavut/tribe-events-community-el.mo?dl=0
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/2xmr2u5pa4gr3z2/tribe-events-community-el.po?dl=0

Facebook Events and EDD Tickets I will see them next week and you can also add EventTribe Tiickets

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

Have you tried re-saving your permalinks after changing the language file? If that words changes in the url that is an important step to get WordPress to recognize the new link.

Also, please make any updates to plugin translations directly on the translation site:

    http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects

And Greek is already added to the Eventbrite Plugin.

    Thanks

    Hi Brian 🙂

Venue and Organizer pages appearance -> Yes, we do flush the permalinks but it didn’t work.
We didn’t search it further, because as I wrote you we link them in the Catalog we have.

    Translations
To make the translation from the scratch in your translation site is very time consuming and difficult compared to Poedit (easy navigation from word to word and recommendations for every translation) and I don’t have so much available time.

So, what I can make is:
    – I can make the initial translation of every plugin to Poedit, test it and then send it to you for uploading in your translation site.
After that I will make all the updates in the translation site in order not to bother you further.
Is it ok for you ?

Will you pls upload the community files of my previous mail ? These are tested and ready 100%

    Thank you !

    Hi,

In the translation forum I cannot troubleshoot issues, but if you bring the issue to WordPress.org we can help out on that forum:

    The Events Calendar

Or in the premium forum if you have an account here.

I had already uploaded the Community Events Greek Translation from before so I was saying any new updates should be done on the translation site.

    Is that latest file different?

Also, that is fine to do the initial translation by providing us with the po files.

    Thanks

    Hi Brian !

Yes these are the final translations:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpc17en87tmavut/tribe-events-community-el.mo?dl=0
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/2xmr2u5pa4gr3z2/tribe-events-community-el.po?dl=0

If there are further updates, I will do them in your Translation site.

For the rest of translations (Facebook, EventBrite, Edd Tickets) i will start them next week.

    Thank You !

Ok I added that file to Community Events.

Also, we only need the .po file. You do not need to send anything else.

    Thanks
