ParticipantHello, My translation is not being shown on the website. I have created a
tribe-events-calendar-nl_NL.pofile with the corresponding.mofile inside my/languages/plugins/folder with my translations, but for some reason the wordUpcomingon the event list overview will not translate to the word I gave it. Is there a way to force the translation?September 8, 2015 at 9:34 pm #1003143Josh
ParticipantHey David,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Are you generating custom translation files based on the ones that we have available via http://translations.theeventscalendar.com? Also, is it all instances of the word “Upcoming” that are being skipped or is it happening in a single location?
Thanks!

ParticipantI have used the translation from within the plugin and copied that to
/languages/plugins/Is there a default page where I could check, cause I can’t seem to find it.The original word is
Upcompingyour translation isAankomendeand I want to translate it toKomendeI have deleted and replaced all instances ofAankomendetoKomendein the.po/.mofile, but the changes are not being reflexed.Update: I thought of something, I have deleted the
tribe-events-calendar-nl_NL.po/.mowithin/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang/and now my translations are being made correctly. Shouldn’t the translations inlanguages/plugins/name-of-plugin.pooverrule the default plugin translations?September 10, 2015 at 5:41 am #1003611Josh
ParticipantHey David,
Thanks for following up with us!
I did a little research and found this line about the language directory:
WordPress checks if there are translation is in plugin/theme and if not then it will load the translation from WordPress language directory.
By this, it sounds like you may need to delete the translation file from our plugin after moving it to the languages folder. If not, it will always load ours first.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantI have the same kind of problem :
I modified the translation of the french .po file included in events-calendar-pro but the translation I did doesn’t seem to work. The word is still the one that was before my modification… How can that be ?September 10, 2015 at 1:46 pm #1003910Jean-Simon Langlois
GuestSame as you.
I just updated the plugins and now i lost like 1 / 3 of my translation (Phone instead of téléphone; Details instead of Détails; All Événement instead of Tous les événements)
I changed the french .po and still my modifications doesnt look to be taken by Event Calendar.

ParticipantHey,
Would you mind opening new support threads for each of your requests? This will ensure that we’re able to address each user directly.
As a test though, it sounds like this could potentially be a cache related issue. Try purging your cache after updating the translation file and re-uploading it into the languages folder within our plugin to see if that helps.
If not, please open a new thread for your support requests.
Thanks!
