ParticipantI need to translate ‘Week’ entry in drop down view selector, but this entry is missing in *.po file and i can’t find it in the-events-calendar.class
how to add it to po file or translate with functions.php?December 3, 2014 at 8:55 am #906346Barry
MemberHi there!
So this isn’t in relation to Eventbrite Tickets but simply the regular view selector?
It seems to me to be present in the .pot catalogue and for instance it translates correctly to Woche if I switch my site’s language to German.
Is the problem that the corresponding entry is missing in your particular language? Which language if so – would you be able to tell us the correct translation and share it over in the translations forum so it can be included in the next release?

ParticipantIts not only one word that is missing in Polish language. Original translation file translate only half of ‘Add New Venue’: ‘Add New Miejsce’ Instead of ‘Dodaj nowe Miejsce’ or ‘Add New Organiser” to ‘Add New Organizatora’ instead of ‘Dodaj Nowego Organisatora’ but I handle it by modifying language files. Some other sentences was missing too. But ‘Day’ in drop down menu was intranslateble by *.po file – but I was able to translate it by modyfing the-events-calendar.class.php Last word that i need to translate is ‘Week’ to ‘Tydzień’

I’m surprised to hear that, as again – with reference to the German translation – day is correctly translated to tag – which suggests it is translatable (I also see it in the .pot catalogue) and direct modification of the plugin code shouldn’t really be necessary.
What I’ll do though is move this thread to the translation forum and ask my colleague who’s the expert on these things to assist with any other issues re the Polish translation 🙂

MemberHi beh0t,
The reason you are seeing so many words in English is because the translation is really outdated. All of our plugins are translated by volunteers, and no one has worked on this one in a while. Would you be interested in updating the translation? That would fix your site and we’d give you a free license in exchange.
If you are interested, check out the Getting Started post where you’ll find the instructions and files you need. The most important thing will be for you to update the .po file with the most recent .pot file, as described in step #6. If you are not able to translate it, you’ll unfortunately need to wait for someone else to update the files.
Best,
Leah
