    Hello,

Just a quick question regarding changes made to events. I have a rather large staff who has access to the back end of our site. We have tried multiple user role managers, but all have caused more problems than good. Recently someone deleted something rather important and I am trying to figure out which Administrator did it. Is there currently a way to see all of the changes that have been made or a plug-in that can log changes?

    Thanks!

    Hey Jessica!

Is there currently a way to see all of the changes that have been made or a plug-in that can log changes?

There is unfortunately no way to do this with our plugins themselves—there is, however, a built-in feature of WordPress itself called “Post Revisions” that might work well for this. Events support post revisions. You can learn about this feature here → https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

I hope that helps! Other than this, there are unfortunately no plugins I know of that provide a true “Track Changes” experience.

    Sincerely,
    George

Thanks George – that is what I sort of figured. Unfortunately the post revisions don’t work for us in this case since the event was completely deleted and then expunged from the trash. Thanks for your help though!

Sorry to disappoint, @Jessica. 🙁 The lack of “true” track changes in WordPress is indeed a weakness of it.

There might be plugins out there that approximate the functionality, so definitely search around for some plugins that might do this—I don’t know of any, and we on our team literally just stick to Google Docs for composition because of these lack of features in WordPress, so it’s a tough problem to solve…but I wish you the best of luck with trying to solve it! 😀

I’ll close this thread for now; open a new thread any time if other questions/comments/concerns arise.

    Sincerely,
    George
