Joe
MemberTitle tags for events and venues work as expected (on my site, it’s “{Event name} | {Site name}” and “{Venue name} | {Site name}”. Likewise event categories (“Event Categories | {Category name} | {Site name}”).
But the main “/events” page, and all month view pages, set the title as “{Site name} | {Site name}”.
Is there a way to change this? I’d like to do something like “Calendar of Events | {Site name}” for the main /events page, and “{Month} {Year} | {Site name}” for other month pages.

MemberHey Joe. What version of the plugin are you using? By Default the calendar of events should have the title tags: “Events for (current month, current year)” | (Website Name).” There was a title tag-related issue with 2.0 that was patched in 2.0.1, which may have fixed this.
As for editing the title tags, let me get our dev Jonah to chime in on how that’s possible (since i’m not sure myself).

MemberHi Rob, I’m running 2.0.1 (initially downloaded just a few days ago). Here’s the calendar on my site, let me know if there’s something I’m missing. http://pco.la/events Thanks!

MemberJust a heads up that since Jonah was perplexed by this too, I’ve got it on another dev’s plate. Should be receiving a response very shortly – my apologies for the delay.

ParticipantHi, Joe; so I tried (unsuccessfully) to recreate your problem, and then pored over all our code that manages the page title, and couldn’t find anything that seemed amiss. Of course, it is still a possibility, but I have another theory that it might be a weirdness with the actual theme you’re using/created (my guess is in the header.php file). Does that seem possible at all? If not, I’ll continue to try and figure out our end, though, like Rob said, the problem is quite perplexing. Let us know!

MemberHere’s what’s in my theme’s header.php file that sets the title ([ ]s instead of s):
[title][?php wp_title ( '|', true,'right' ); ?][/title]
That’s not unusual is it?December 12, 2011 at 3:05 pm #12165Rob
MemberHey Joe. I don’t believe so; let me get Paul to respond again directly.

ParticipantNo, there doesn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary there. I’m examining Contact Form 7, the other main plugin active on that page, to see if it might be having an effect on the title. If you want you can try deactivating that plugin and seeing if it has an effect (although I’m trying to recreate the problem as we speak). Don’t worry, we’ll get to the bottom of this.

MemberThanks Paul!
Joe: let us know and we can keep looking into it as needed on our end.

MemberThanks Paul and Rob. No, deactivating Contact Form 7 didn’t fix it.

MemberHey Joe. Paul and I looked this over in depth today and are pretty much at a loss as to what could be causing it. What does seem apparent is that this is being caused by something other than our plugin. The reason we think this is primarily because it appears you aren’t using the template generated by the plugin, but another template, since you have the form at the bottom (i.e. other content).
That being the case, the default title created by the plugin wouldn’t work in any case, and the real title should be “Calendar | The Website Name”, as that is the actual page title; as for why it is not doing that, we have no idea, but it appears to be something independent of ECP. This is also why we’re having so much trouble tracking down what’s wrong.
I wish I could offer up more here, but it seems we’re at a wall on this issue. Any chance you’ve had luck with the developers of other plugins/your theme on whether they have any suggestions?
