Time Zone Error

When I try to register an event with Eventbrite, I can select that I want to do so and fill out all the options. When I save the event, I get the following error:

The following Eventbrite error has occurred: Invalid time zone. Please consult our list of supported timezones.

The event itself saves in WordPress, but it doesn’t show up in Eventbrite. I see there are no Events Calendar settings for timezones. WordPress itself is using a nearby city for its time zone setting. I can’t see any overall timezone setting in Eventbrite either.

I am able to import event from Eventbrite into WordPress, but that’s not my preferable way of doing it.

Hi, Melissa. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this issue.

Eventbrite changed their API recently, and it’s caused a bunch of odd behaviors. Would you mind trying to set the time on your WP site as UTC+/-#? People seem to have better luck with that kind of time setting.

We are in the process of trying to iron this hiccoughs out. You can expect a more permanent solution in a forthcoming release of Eventbrite Tickets.

Thank you for the suggestion. Using UTC time seemed to work when I tested it. I just have to remember to change it when Daylight Savings time comes in November.

I did contact Eventbrite as well since I wasn’t sure if it was the plug-in or their site. When I hear back from them I will pass along what you said so they know that it is an issue.
