ParticipantWe are asking lots of questions about each ticket, which are all saved as cookies. These add up, and if someone adds enough tickets to their basket then the cookie size exceeds 32KB, which is the current limit on CloudFlare! This is causing the website to become unreachable for the user.
Is there any setting to not use cookies for this data? Maybe use local storage, or database storage?
Thanks

ParticipantHey Shaun,
I’m really sorry for the trouble here. The way we are currently using cookies can indeed max-out limits like you describe here. I hate to bear the bad news, but unfortunately there is no easy way to go about getting around this. 🙁
Using alternative methods for lightening the reliance on cookies is something we’re keen on, but such solutions are not likely to come for at least another few releases of the plugin. There is no setting or filter at this time, but we are working on adding one!
Please let me know what you think and if there’s anything else I can try to help with, shed light on, etc.
Sincerely,
GeorgeJune 13, 2016 at 8:40 am #1126144Shaun
ParticipantHi,
OK. I just found out the CloudFlare limit is actually 8KB so it’s worse than I thought!
That is a problem. If this cannot be fixed quickly, is there any way to at least detect that there will be a problem (cookie size reaches a certain limit) and then perhaps stop people adding to the cart at that point? Currently people can go ahead and add loads to the cart until the website appears to break for them because the cookie is too large!

ParticipantHey @Shaun,
While there currently is not such a way to reveal the cookie size easily, I am wondering—can you share a link to an event on which the cookie size is being exceeded? I am just curious to see how many tickets and fields and such are being used.
Please note there is a “set as private reply” button on the reply form here, so if you want to keep that link visible to only you and the support team, check that button before you submit your reply.
Thank you!

MemberHey there, just a heads up that we released Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus 4.2.6 moments ago and it included a fix for this issue. Please do update when you have the chance and definitely let us know if you continue to have any issues at all.
Thanks so much for reporting this and for your patience while we worked on a fix.
Cheers!
