The Events Calendar + Filter bar + Polylang

We are using The Events Calendar with the Filter Bar and Polylang on out site. The problem is, some of the URLs generated by the plugin are wrong, leading to a 404 page. We have set Polylang to include the language code in the URL as a directory, like http://example.com/en/, but this is what’s missing form the URL, the language code. The URLs pointing for a single event are all correct, only those pointing to archive (or archive-like) pages are wrong, like the month calendar, the list, or a days event list view. If we set Polylang to doesn’t include the language code in the URL, the plugin wasn’t working at all.

The other, smaller problem is, that we couldn’t find a way to have the titles on the Filter Bar search fields translated. I can set them in the plugin’s settings page for a single value, but I don’t know, how to make it dynamic based on the active language.

Can you help us in these issues?

Thank you for your question.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but at this point, the Events calendar does not support Polylang.

As you found out, things can work partially, but not totally.
Some users have found certain workarounds and you can even vote for Polylang support as a future feature.

For now, we do support multilingual websites, but through WPML, not Polylang.

I wish I could help you more, but at least it sheds some light on the reason you were not able to achieve what you are looking for.
