ParticipantHi there,
we are migrating our site from Dreamhost/US to TransIP/NL. In order to move the Event Calendar PRO (and the community section) we have to activate it again on the new server however we only have license.
Currently the server is not yet reachable but is visible in the internal network under the same domain name (DNS spoofing). Once we have setup everything, we will change the DNS.
Do we need to buy an additional license or is there another solution?

MemberEvents Calendar PRO (and our other plugins) function even without the license key, so once you’ve set things up on your new host and are good to go simply deactivate on the old installation and reactivate on the new one.
It’s possible you’ll see an error message at that point, if so simply email us ([email protected]) and mark your email for the attention of Leah who will be happy to help out π (best case scenario though is that this will be seamless).

ParticipantI won’t miss out on any records I will import from the old site? And do you guys work over the weekend as I will doing the migration tomorrow π

MemberNo, we don’t typically work over weekends though you might get lucky – it just depends on the work patterns of individual team members.
I wonβt miss out on any records I will import from the old site?
Not by virtue of not having a license key, no. Of course the important thing is to take a full and complete backup first of all (and to know the process for recovering or restoring that backup).
Hope that helps,
Barry

ParticipantI assume you talk about the standard WP backup and import/export. Or is there more to it for Events Calender?

MemberI’m not sure if WordPress’s built-in tool will cover everything or not, to be honest. Personally the way I would approach it is to independently back-up the entire database and files.
