After updating to WordPress 3.5 the calendar overview page stopped working.

I have a “events”-folder in my theme dictionary as expected. The problem is, that the content of an event instead of the template shows up when I am opening the grid- oder listview url.

I think it’s an issue with the ecp-machanism that chooses the template.

the “upcoming” URL doesn’t work in any way anymore.

Can you clarify the problem with the gridview? Other than some styling issues it seems ok to me.

It looks like it is working to me – perhaps you fixed whatever was causing the problem prior to my replying?

Hi there, I too am having a similar issue –
    http://tynesideirish.com/new/events/upcoming/
the event details are not being displayed correctly. I’m going to have to downgrade back to the earlier version of WP until this is fixed!
also, in the widget when you mouse over an event the bubble sticks – it doesn’t disappear when you move the cursor away from the calendar

Peter – if I visit http://tynesideirish.com/new/events/upcoming/ it doesn’t look like the sort of output I would expect from The Events Calendar, at all. Have you replaced it with some static content?

Regarding the calendar tooltips, I’d recommend running through the usual steps of deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme, seeing if that resolves the problem then reactivating everything one-at-a-time until you find the conflict (if there is one).

I can definitely see errors, one relates to some Javascript in your header which looks like it is intended to interact with Twitter. Another relates to the Superfish (dropdown) menus – but that could simply be a knock on effect from the first error.

Let me know how you get on 🙂

wow, that was a quick response! Amazing, I’ll have a go, I’ll downgrade wordpress anyway – a lot of people in the WP community are upset at the latest release (it may be how my theme interacts with it). I think you’re right about the tooltips – I’d forgot that I had left that code in, good spot. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks very much.

No problem at all, I’m sure we’ll get it sorted one way or another 🙂

Hi Barry, the calendar issue was because of my javascript – thanks for spotting that. I checked just now and when I use the standard WP theme the events plugin pro works fine, but as you can see it displays quite oddly with my current theme. I guess therefore the issue lies with my theme but do you know how I might correct it?
    Thanks again,
    Peter

    I deactivated the theme

It does look slightly unusual. Are you using template overrides (do you have a directory named events within your theme’s directory)? If so, can you temporarily rename that directory to disable_events so that the default views are used instead?

hmmm there’s no events directory within the theme folder or any mention of events in the css file. Would it help if I emailed you the theme? I’ve deactivated every other plugin. I’m not sure what template overrides are – I’ve just installed and activated the theme

Do you know if the templates contained in The Events Calendar (in the plugin directory itself) have been modified?

Hi Barry, no, I’ve not touched them at all

Shall I email you my theme? Everything seems to work OK with the twentyeleven theme but just not with the current theme

Yeah email it across: if you could mark the subject for my attention (please email us at [email protected]) and also add the URL of this thread somewhere in there that would be great.
