ParticipantWhen Javascript/AJAX filtering is disabled, a Submit button appears at the bottom of the Filter Bar to allow users to submit their search. After unchecking the “Use Javascript to control date filtering” option in TEC settings, we found the Submit button is not functioning on our site. The “Find Events” button in the Tribe Events Bar is functioning properly though.
We tried deactivating ALL plugins and reverting to the Twenty Fourteen theme but the issue persists, so it appears the problem is in the Filer Bar plugin. See the supplied System Information for all of your other plugins we are running.
Please advise how we can resolve this issue until an official fix is released. Thank you!

ParticipantHi Karly, if you downgrade the TEC core plugin to 3.12.3 it will fix the issue:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/after-updating-the-events-calendar-from-3-12-3-to-3-12-4-filter-bar-ajax-broke/#post-1022384After just purchasing the Filter Bar add-on and spending an hour trying to figure out why it wasn’t working out of the box, I eventually found that post. 🙂
Anyway, I wanted to ask… where is the “Use Javascript to control date filtering” checkbox? I’d like to have that option. I don’t see it anywhere in TEC Settings pages?

ParticipantJohn, thanks for that suggestion. I had hoped that would fix this issue as well, but unfortunately, it did not resolve it. We’ll have to see what the folks at TEC have to say. Perhaps in addition to the core Events Calendar plugin, one or more of the add-ons need to be downgraded as well.
Regarding the “Use Javascript to control date filtering” checkbox, you can find that by going to the General tab of The Events Calendar Settings page.

MemberHi Karly,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help out.
I took a look at your site and see you are running The Events Calendar 3.12.5 both that version and 3.12.4 have the incorrect javascript that is causing this.
Downgrading to 3.12.3 should resolve this issue until we can get a fix out.
Follow the steps here to downgrade:
After updating The Events Calendar from 3.12.3 to 3.12.4 Filter Bar Ajax broke
Look for a fix soon to this.
Thanks

MemberHi John,
Thanks for posting here providing that information.
Sorry for the issues as well.
We got ahead of ourselves and introduce some 4.0 coding into the mix that caused this.
Anyway the setting you are looking for is:
Events > Settings > General Tab > General Settings > “Use Javascript to control date filtering”
If should be checked by default. Unchecking it will cause a submit button to appear for the filter bar.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
Thanks. I actually had already tried downgrading to The Events Calendar 3.12.3, but the issue still was present with that version. Went through the deactivation/manual update/reactivation. Even went through it twice just to be sure, but the issue persists.
Would we need to downgrade any of the add-ons as well (e.g. PRO or Filter Bar)? We have TEC 3.12.3 installed now so you can see the issue in action if you’d like.
Thanks,

ParticipantAlso, downgrading to 3.12.3 deactivates Community Events and it cannot be reactivated without updating to 3.12.5 (“To begin using The Events Calendar: Community Events, please install the latest version of The Events Calendar.” appears on the Plugins page).

MemberHi,
On my test site I downgraded to 3.12.3 for Core, Community Events to 3.12, and Filter Bar remained at 3.12.1.
Community Events should also be downgraded to 3.12 and the 3.12.1 update is only needed for Community Tickets.
After the downgrade I was able to get filters to work again.
Can you confirm the staging site cleared all the javascript caches and is using the 3.12.3 scripts.
Thanks

ParticipantOkay, the issue was the Community Events needed to be downgraded as well, not just The Events Calendar. After downgrading Community Events to 3.12, the submit button is now functioning again. Thanks for helping get this addressed while a true fix is in the works.
We’re anxiously awaiting the 4.0 beta! 🙂
