ParticipantI am new to this calendar plugin. In researching it I found some sites that have the event’s featured image showing on the day of the event and others that had a pop out bubble show with the image in it upon hovering over the event title in the monthly view. Can you help me figure out how this is possible?
Thank You

MemberHi Chrism
Thanks for using our plugins I can help out here.
We have this guide to adding a featured image in the month view:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-featured-images-to-month-view/
Does that help?

ParticipantHi Brian,
I went to the guide but can’t find the line quoted in my “single-event.php” file:
<h3 class="tribe-events-month-event-title entry-title summary"><a href="<?php echo esc_url( $link ) ?>" class="url"><?php echo $title ?></a></h3>The guide directs us to paste some code before or after this code, but it doesn’t appear in my file. Where should the amended code go?

MemberHi Robin,
The single-event.php is found here for the month view:
plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/month/single-event.php
That coding is there at the bottom of the file.
And it should be moved here in your theme to edit:
yourtheme/tribe-events/month/single-event.php
Thanks

ParticipantI have followed the instructions but my events will only show in photo view. The month view will not display. I have also started another support thread for this issue. Once the Month view is visable I will let you know if this worked for me.
Thanks

ParticipantBrian,
I have not been able to get the Calendar Plugin to work with the Ultimatum theme thus far (Their product support is working on it, and I am also considering switching to the Divi theme by Elegant Themes) In the meantime I placed the code you gave me in the proper files and the images are still not displaying even when I switch to the 2013 Theme. I have to get this site completed asap. So any other thoughts you may have. In addition I noticed a few threads mentioning compatibility issues with Divi. Do you know if this is the case? My clients needs are very complex so I cannot use a basic theme and it seems that the Calendar doesn’t play nice with layout builder style themes. Can you guide me to one that does work if you feel that Divi will not?
Thank You

MemberHi,
For the most part we work with Divi, however, for any plugin or theme with a drag and drop page editor it tends to conflict with our main Event Views of Month, List, Map, etc as they are archives and not pages.
I do know when using Divi this setting should be set to 10:
Theme Options > General Settings > Number of Post displayed on Archive pages
Beyond that I do not have information on other issues that could come up.
Month View
As for the snippet I tried on my test site and it worked for me.If it is not working in any theme you could verify the location again and the spelling of everything.
If you can let me know the exact directory you are using and what the coding looks like I might be able to pick out an issue.
Thanks

MemberWe do not have recommendations for any themes.
We test our plugins against the WordPress Codex themes such as Twenty-Fifteen.
I personally use Genesis and we have a guide I wrote on helping fix any issues that arise between them.
Beyond that if you search in theme forest there are some Event Calendar compatible themes according to the themes.
I have no affiliate with them, but I found Boxy Themes to be good themes with Event Calendar Compatibility:
http://codecanyon.net/collections/4722786-boxy-studio-themes
They also include their own Week View Widget for the Events Calendar.
Cheers

ParticipantBrian,
I was able to switch to a new theme and this is now working for me. Can you provide a link to directions on doing the same thing for the List View Widget? Thank you again for all of your help!
