"Show only the first instance of each recurring event" not working

When I tick the box below (in settings)
Recurring event instances
Show only the first instance of each recurring event.
I still get the event recurring in the Calendar listing

I have placed a start date and time and an end date and time on the same day and clicked recurring event “every Day” in the event edit section.

I can of course untick recurring event and simply use the normal WordPress text box on say “this runs until such and such a date” but it’s not an ideal solution.

Hi Simon,

That setting relates to the upcoming events list (rather than the calendar) … which we could probably make a little clearer. Can you confirm if it is not being observed in that context?

It would essentially be expected behaviour to see recurring events repeated across the calendar view.

The upcoming events list works fine. If recurring events show up on the Calendar view that’s fine, I assumed that would be replicated on the calendar but as it isn’t that’s no problem.

Hi Simon,

It isn’t replicated in the calendar – and that’s by design – but I will go ahead and make a note to see if we can make that clearer straight off the bat in a future version.
