ParticipantHi, I’m trying to import an XML file into my Events Calendar, but in order to do it I need to know what fields I need to plug the values into. Is there a way to show all the fields associated with the calendar and is there a simple way to programmatically feed values from an XML file into the fields to create new events?
I’ve tried using the WP All Import plugin (http://www.wpallimport.com/) but it throws up some weird fields, as well as some missing ones such as price. Here are all the fields it finds associated with Events:
_EventOrign
_expiration-date-status
eg_source_youtube
eg_event_start
_EventShowMapLink
_EventShowMap
_EventStartDate
_EventEndDate
_EventDuration
_EventVenueID
_EventCurrencySymbol
_EventCurrencyPosition
_EventOrganizerID
_EventRecurrence
_EventNextPendingRecurrenceI also note that another poster was advised to write their own plug in rather than use a third party bit of software (see here). But I do not know how to begin cooking up a plugin to do this, especially as I do not know how to access the event fields.
Thanks for any help – I’ll be eternally grateful and thanks again for this great plugin!

ParticipantHey Ben,
Thanks for reaching out. The first thing I’d like to note is that the issue you linked to does not seem to recommend making your own plugin, but rather using the “default” WordPress importer/exporter plugins. Just an observation.
Back to your main question though: all of the fields for The Events Calendar can be found listed here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/wordpress-post-meta-data/
I hope that helps you – programmatically mapping these fields to a custom Importer plugin or something are a bit outside the scope of our forums, but that reference of at least what all the fields are should hopefully provide you with a lot of kindling here.
Let us know if that’s the case and/or if you have followup questions, concerns, etc.
Cheers!

ParticipantOkay, thanks for this I’ll need to give things some thought. I’ll post again when I’ve got some results / further issues.

ParticipantCool, thanks for the update here. I’ll close up this thread for now but if you need to open a new thread related to this one, just link back to this thread for reference and we can pick up the conversation from there.
I should note that we can’t really offer support for code customizations, or answer specific code questions if you’re trying to build something for your or your clients’ sites. But ask away and we’ll do our best regardless – just want to set expectations reasonably and not get your hopes up about what can be provided here!
Cheers,
