@Barry: This is getting annoying. Why on earth do you close up our threads before they are solved and when you obviously haven’t understood the problem?

I’m not talking about WP SEO – I’m talking about Yoast SEO which doesn’t work with your plugin (as one the only only we ever came across). For that reason you developed a snippet to take care of this but this snippet doesn’t work properly with “Map View”.

We know that the in the source code of “Map View” the title is set as in the snippet, but in the browser window the output is different. It is showing as “Upcoming Event >>” and obviously overwrites the snippet with this standard title?

This is a bug in your snippet or it’s just not compatible with 3.5 as this worked fine before updating to 3.5.

    Lars:

If we feel we’ve progressed a thread as much as we feel we can, then we will close the thread – we just don’t have unlimited resources to help people through customizations and I’d like to think we’ve made that clear in numerous threads.

I’m not talking about WP SEO – I’m talking about Yoast SEO which doesn’t work with your plugin

I think we are talking about the same thing – WordPress SEO by Yoast. Sorry for any confusion, there, but it is commonly abbreviated to WP SEO and in fairness neither of us were using the long form of the plugin name. If that’s not in fact the same plugin you are referring to and you want to avoid confusion in future threads then I’d recommend explicitly pointing to the relevant URL.

This is a bug in your snippet or it’s just not compatible with 3.5

You need to understand first of all that often we provide snippets to show the general form of a solution: we’re not building bespoke solutions for you, here, we’re just trying to point you in the right direction. As in the other thread, though, I found the snippet worked as expected.

With all that said, I am glad you found a way to make it work for you in your environment. I’ll close with a few final points:

    • There was no need to make any of your replies private – please refrain from doing so unless you are sharing confidential information
    • This thread refers to a customization and the level of support we offer here doesn’t extend to building customizations for you – we’re happy to point you in the right direction, but repeatedly posting for assistance when we’ve already made that clear we can’t assist further with a particular issue is not a helpful course of action

Thanks again – and I’ll now close this thread.
