ParticipantI am working on implementing the Event Calendar plugin on a new site for a client, but having this strange problem with the Menu bar.
If you select “Event Listing” it will highlight both the “Event listing” and the “blog”. If you change the view from calendar to event list it will just only have the “blog” highlighted.
If you go to the following link you will understand http://50ccplus.com/listings/
I have disabled all the plugin’s and this having this problem. The pro function has also been disabled.

ParticipantHi Dave,
Do you see the same thing when you revert to the Twenty Eleven theme?

ParticipantHi Jonah,
I did changed the Theme to Twenty Eleven for testing earlier, but noticed another problem. Which is Schedule will be bold in the beginning, but once you change the view to either calendar or event it will unbold the Schedule. I was guessing that had to do with the changing of the page links.

ParticipantHey Dave,
You can use the other theme you’ll just need to modify the CSS to get it so the menu highlighting works the way you want. It’s not our plugin but the way you have your theme’s CSS setup.

ParticipantHi Jonah,
At the moment I am rebuilding the site on a fresh installation, will update you once i sort that out. Also, another question. Would it be possible to change the google maps link to the japanese google maps link?
November 7, 2012 at 6:52 pm #27687Jonah
ParticipantHey Dave,
Sounds good. There’s currently no way to filter the map link but thats a good suggestion. I’ve brought it up with the team and will probably add it as a feature in the future.

ParticipantHi Jonah,
Thank you for putting my request forward. Also just an update, I have rebuild the site from scratch and still having the same problem. I going to talk with the guys at Pagelines to see if they might have an answer as to want i am missing. The new site is on tsttokyo.com if you are bored on want to look at it. 🙂

ParticipantHey Dave,
Let me know what the Pagelines guys say – I know you can filter the menu item walker in WordPress and it could be that they did this and you’ll need to change the walker code or override it via CSS.

ParticipantDear Jonah,
Is there away to make the “Upcoming Event” and “Calendar” show up under the pages tab? Also are the “Upcoming Event” and “Calendar” child pages or parent pages?
DaveNovember 15, 2012 at 8:15 am #28132Jonah
ParticipantHi Dave,
What do you mean the “pages tab”? You can create custom links in Appearance > Menus and add links for whatever you want to menus if that’s what you’re asking. No, Calendar and Upcoming Events are not child pages or parent pages. They are rather virtual dynamic pages created by the plugin.
Does that answer your question?

ParticipantHi Jonah,
Yes, I understand now. Thank you for explaining that they were dynamically created.

ParticipantJonah,
Is there a way to find the ID’s (eg .page-id-x) for the “Upcoming Event” and “Calendar”?
DaveNovember 15, 2012 at 6:55 pm #28160Jonah
ParticipantHi Dave,
There are no ID’s but you can use these conditional statements to make your own if you want: https://gist.github.com/2415009
You could just create a variable in PHP ($page_id) and then in any given statement, set the ID or text string you want. ID might not be a good idea because it could conflict with other auto generated ID’s.
