ParticipantI have several events that are set to repeat.
Example -> http://socialalerts.com/norepeats.png <-
The initial event displays correctly, but all other events in the series do not repeat, that is, there should be multiple events being displayed but only the first in the series can be found.
Bug? Im I doing something wrong here? I’m on ver 3.5.1 so maybe this was addressed w a later rev? I vaguely recall you guys saying something about changing the way repeated events are handled? If this is something that the latest versions addressed, what happens to all events currently on my site? Does the upgrade make these pre-existing events incompatible? Or is there an upgrade path…?August 4, 2014 at 5:14 pm #581729Barry
MemberHi – I’m sorry it’s not working for you.
Certainly it should result in a number of events being generated and they should all be visible unless for instance you’ve configured things to only show the first upcoming recurring event in event listings (though it looks like you’ve currently made this something the user controls).
On looking at your main events page and the event that is listed it actually looks like something is breaking – ie, the page is terminating early (could be due to a fatal error) so that is worth exploring in the first instance. Can you access your server’s error logs and are you seeing anything of note in there?
YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.Thanks also for running through the above troubleshooting steps: under those conditions (ie, with no other plugins running and only a default, unmodified theme), did the same problem still occur or – if you take things back to that state and create a new recurring event – does it then work as expected?

Participant“On looking at your main events page” – What page are you looking at? SocialAlerts.com is a multisite and the root -> SocialAlerts.com proper <- has no events. So which of the sites in the network are you looking at that caused you to question if something is breaking?

MemberI was looking at socialalerts.com/events: generally, unless a customer states otherwise, we assume the URL provided when a thread is opened relates to the site in question … and an upcoming events view is indeed visible there.
If that’s not the correct place to look at then it would be great if:
- You could provide a live URL that relates to this issue (ideally, the URL of an affected event)
- You could confirm the outcome of the troubleshooting steps outlined in my last reply
Thanks!

MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
