ParticipantFor the workshops that have to be prepaid I use wootickets. But there are events that has to be payed at the office box before the event starts in the evening and some of them needs a registration for all visitors. So I need a method that a visitor can register to an event without buying a ticket but with the possibility that I can see how many people have registered them self for an event an so on. Similar to WooTickets but without paying for a ticket. It could be a special payment method as ‘At Office Box’.

ParticipantGreat question, Amala! 🙂 WooCommerce Tickets is a great solution for this sort of registration as well.
I’d recommend that you set up a free ticket for your event. When your user gets to the checkout, he or she will not be asked for payment information because the amount due is 0.
Do you think that will work for your situation?

ParticipantNo, thats not the solution. Because the customer could think that the event would be free fore the the ticket is free, but that is not true, he has to pay the fee at the office box before the beginning of the event. The other aspect is, that the administration of the order should be more automatic. If the ticket is free, why must the order be confirmed to send the ticket (via email) to the customer. If I should use that method (with free tickets) I had to have the possibility to insert the message in each email of the ordering process that the fee is to pay at the office box and so on.
But thank you for answering.January 14, 2014 at 6:57 am #92117Kelly
ParticipantHi, Amala. I’m sorry to hear that you don’t find that option compelling. 🙁
It’s sounds to me like the root of the problem is that WooCommerce doesn’t have this functionality out of the box, and WooCommerce Tickets merely harnesses the power of what’s already built out in WooCommerce. For users to appear in the attendee list, they must have completed an order.
That said, I personally employ messaging on one of my sites to allow for registration by buying a free ticket while communicating that there will be a fee collected at the venue. I have had no issue with push back from those attending the events. Our templates are quite flexible, and you are welcome to override them to say whatever you like.
As far as completing orders in a more automated fashion, there are third party plugins that will help you with that. A search of the forum should yield many candidates.
Hope that’s helpful! 🙂

ParticipantI see there are some possible starting points to get a solution for what I want. Perhaps it is possible to me writing a plugin. May be.

ParticipantHi, Amala. I’m sorry to hear that these options won’t work for you. 🙁 I’m afraid that’s about the best I can offer in the forum here.
If you’d like help digging further into the issue, I’m happy to offer you a list of developers that you might be able to partner with. Please let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll get you some names right away.
Also, I encourage you to visit our UserVoice page to vote for registration type features. We select which features are implemented based on community demand there, so if it’s something you’d like to see us build into a product, that’s the best way to make it happen.
Best of luck!
