GuestHello,
I am events calendar pro Pre-Sale 🙂As a starting point, I build a website whose subject is history. he show all events on the calendar.
I use the plugin “The Events Calendar”I heard the pro version allows repeating events (Recurring events).
set a recurring yearly event that started the year until forever ..
So before I purchase your plug, I have some questions:yearly recurring events –
While many events are recurring.
I want to know whether this operation can generate load on the server or data base of my website? Is there an action repeated every year? Or can be “fixed” event on a certain day and will last forever without any problems?Think about this: I have a lot of events in one year!
I want them to return to their appearance every year in the same day!Is there a possibility to create an event which will remain constant each year?
I realized that the option of pro I can find such a possibility,
This thing scares me because if for example another five years of creating recurring calendar events – my server simply collapse! I do not want to.I hope I have made clear my intention.
Currently pending question is – is it possible to fix the calendar, so that in fact it will remain a calendar? If I create a certain day event – so the event also will remain unchanged for the coming years and the renewal period?
I hope you can find a solution quickly!
Best,

MemberHi Shachar,
Thanks for considering Events Calendar PRO 🙂
It’s absolutely possible to create events that recur every year. Let me address a couple of specific points you raised.
I want to know whether this operation can generate load on the server or data base of my website? Is there an action repeated every year? Or can be “fixed” event on a certain day and will last forever without any problems?
When you create a recurring event, an entry is added to the database for every date that it will take place on. That could result in a lot of database entries being generated so, in order to support events which recur ‘forever’, we default to not generating anything that is more than 2 years in the future (and we also default to cleaning up events once they are 2 years in the past).
In your case, as you have a specific interest in using yearly events, you may wish to extend this range beyond a 2-year window and that is easy to do via our settings page: sensible use of these settings will help to mitigate any excess load issues.
This thing scares me because if for example another five years of creating recurring calendar events – my server simply collapse! I do not want to.
With suitable hosting resources and careful use of both our settings and facilities such as caching, you should find that The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO scale nicely.
I hope that answers your questions, but let me know if I can clarify anything for you.
