I would really like to only show the only the first instance of each recurring event (in the list-style view). So I checked the box…but after a the 1st instance of the event has occurred it shows the next event in the same series.

How can i truly make the list view show only the 1st instance of a event not show any of the subsequent recurring events?

example – yoga on the beach
    list veiw

View all yoga on the baech

    Thanks

Hi! I’m not quite sure I understand. In list view everything seems fine – is the problem only with the second view (which is explicitly designed to show all upcoming instances of a recurring event)?

    Hi Barry
Sorry for the confusing. Basically my client offer yoga session and the student has to sign up for the fist event in the series of recurring events. Thus after the 1st event passes they no longer need to showcase that recurring event in the list view.
Here is a screen shot of what i am talking about. http://cdn.freshdesk.com/data/helpdesk/attachments/production/18954005/original/all_yoga_on_the_beach.jpg?1402451621
    Thanks

Our issue is in the list view. My client offer yoga class sessions and the student needs to sign up for a 1st event in the series of an events. Therefor after the 1st event in the series has passed we no longer need to showcase that series of events the list view.

I have noticed that after the 1st event date passes the second event in the series shows up in the list view. (and i assume it will continue until the event series is over) How can make the list view truly only showcase the 1st event and not any subsequent events in the list view.

    Thanks

Basically, is there anyway to showcase just the 1st upcoming events of all the recurring events? …if that makes any scene…
    Cheers

    Hi!

I do see what you are trying to do and it’s definitely possible but, I’m afraid, it is just a bit beyond what we can help you with here on this forum.

It sounds like you don’t want to show any recurring events in list view. That being the case, you may wish to investigate using WP_Query and hooks like parse_query (which relate to WordPress itself rather than our plugin specifically) in order to do this cleanly and still have functional pagination on list view.

Showcasing recurring events separately would mean potentially also be possible, either with WP_Query or tribe_get_events() – which is effectively a convenient wrapper function around WP_Query – but again we’d really need to leave you to dive into this sort of customization.

    Thanks!

Hi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
