ParticipantI noticed both Events Calendar and Pro were both out of date. I decided to first upgrade the Events Calendar but when I was redirected back to the plugin page I saw the link to upgrade the Pro plugin was gone and there is a big ugly note at the top that the plugins are not compatible.

ParticipantI ran into the same issue and was able to fix it. I downloaded the Events Calendar PRO 3.0.1 from my Modern Tribe Account and unzipped it. I deleted the events-calendar-pro folder from my server and then uploaded the extracted events-calendar-pro folder to my server. After refreshing the website page the error message was resolved.

ParticipantThanks Shanna, I just did the same thing and it’s all fine. Developers should still note the issue.

ParticipantI, too, lost the Pro plugin upgrade link. You can get it back by going to the Updates page on your Dashboard and clicking “Check Again”. Now if I could just get the font in the Upcoming Events widget back the way it’s supposed to be. LOL!

MemberHi all, thanks for the feedback. That definitely isn’t the smooth experience we were aiming to deliver – so please accept our apologies on that end.
Debbie: a number of big changes have occurred in relation to the plugin’s outward appearance – it could be well worth reviewing our updated themer’s guide but if that doesn’t help certainly feel free to create a new thread and one of the team will be happy to help.

ParticipantHi – I have the big ugly ‘out of date error’ but can’t get the upgrade option – I get “There is an update available for The Events Calendar: Community Events but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Modern Tribe website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.” – but as I only bought this in May 2013 I am not out of installs. What do I do to upgrade? My calendar is down right now!

ParticipantOH. NO. I followed the instructions on site to disconnect, upgrade, then reconnect – and all of my settings are gone. None of my pages work. All of the widgets are gone. Nothing is displaying in calendar or event format. What am I supposed to do now?!!!!!

MemberHe Piebwa,
That would be understandably alarming. I’d like to build a better picture of what you are experiencing:
* Is the Events menu still accessible if you login to the dashboard?
* If so, is it possible to create and then edit new events? Are any pre-existing events still present?
* If you visit the plugin admin page can you confirm that the relevant plugins are indeed active (as it is possible that activation failed)your license key is out of installs … but as I only bought this in May 2013 I am not out of installs.
This doesn’t depend on the date when you purchased the license but rather the type of license and number of sites you have used it on.
For instance, with a personal license (valid for 1 site) if you install it on site-a.com (or a local development environment) and then set it up on site-b.com you are likely to encounter this message, however if that’s the case please just visit Accounts > Licenses and clear whichever URLs are no longer in use.

ParticipantEvents menu is accessible. Preexisting events are still there. Lost installed widgets (for event listing and calendar) on home page. Lost geolocation data on existing events. Lost formatted sidebar widget calendar (it is just a text-based table now with no active links). Lost calendar view on default /events url. I’m going through all settings item by item trying to see if I can restore.

MemberAll our widgets have effectively been rewritten, so yes you would need to re-establish those now that you have upgraded using the most recent versions.
I’m sorry to hear that you lost the geolocation data on existing events – hopefully that is relatively easy to restore by resaving your venues (though I fully appreciate that is an inconvenient step that should really be unnecessary).

ParticipantI have the same problem as blackrockgalleries:
Using 1 site – http://www.queensevents.ca – with 1 license for Events Calendar PRO (purchased April 19, 2013) and 1 license for Facebook Events (purchased Feb 27, 2013).Trying to upgrade to Events Calendar 3.0.1 and Facebook Events 3.0
In LICENSES tab: “Sorry, this key is out of installs.”

ParticipantUpgraded to Events Calendar PRO 3.01 and lost the list of next 10 events, lost the link to see all events in calendar format, and when I click on Settings, I get a message that says, “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

MemberHi guys,
The best idea is to create a new thread detailing your own problem as posting in an existing thread can lead to confusion, particularly if – as here – numerous different problems and installations are being referred to. So for that reason I’m going to close this thread – but please do create new ones if you need further assistance.
@queensevents you could try removing your existing license keys both on your WordPress installation and here on the tri.be Accounts > Licenses management page – then try again from your WordPress installation, re-entering them afresh. If that doesn’t help you may need to update manually by downloading new copies from our downloads page.
@Sherm: if you are referring to the settings link that is shown under Events Calendar PRO on the plugin management screen then yes, you’re right – that’s unfortunately a known bug. But you can still access the settings page from the main link found at Events > Settings. Thanks all – and, again, if you need further support please do go right ahead and create fresh threads as needed 🙂
