Prevent ticket from being purchased unless another already is in the cart

I have an event where there’s a bonus day and the way it’s setup right now is on the events page someone can purchase the main event ticket and then right below it is the bonus day. My issue is that some people are just purchasing the bonus day thinking that it’s the main event because it’s cheaper. I’d like to be able to prevent this by only allowing the purchase of the bonus day IF the main ticket has been added to their cart at the same time.

I thought this could maybe be done through an up sell offer but just not sure how this all ties in with events ticket plus. I assume that would mean the upsell offer would have to be a separate product or what.

As you might already know, this is not a built in functionality, so you will need to tackle this one by doing some sort of customization.

I did come across this feature idea in our user voice > https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/5368470-ticket-bundles-multiple-event-passes It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it surely is an interesting approach to solving your problem so I encourage you to vote for it.

Another thing worth checking out is the Force Sells extension for Woocommerce. I don’t think it will apply to many scenarios, but in your case you could “Sync Force Sells” between the two tickets, so when adding the bonus day it will force the addition of the main ticket to the cart.
