Pre-display a specific week?

Is it possible to pre-display a specific week onload? I.e. so that week 41 shows in default “Week” view instead of the current week based on realtime?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a setting that would allow for that out of the box. The simplest solution would probably be to change the link that you’re using to direct people to the calendar to something that called out a specific week, e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/events/week/2014-03-03/

I understand. This could be an option but is it not possible to change where the default time/date is set to a specific time/date? I just need to know in which file to do it.

It is very strange that The Events Calendar doesn’t “fast forward” to the first coming (future) event rather than showing “no events” for the current day/week/month. Why is this not an option? And how can we do this?

This would BTW be a great feauture for The Events Calendar in general as users then could use the plugin for program listing a week-based festival, a weekend venues, etc.

Hi, mending. That’s a great feature idea! We would be most grateful if you would suggest it over on our User Voice forum so that we can better gauge community interest in its implementation.

For now, I’m afraid that your best bet is to use a link that directs explicitly to the view and time period that you’re after. Please let me know if you have a hard time finding the right syntax. I’m happy to help out with that. 🙂

I think you describe the issue very well above. You might just tweak is slightly to be a bit more generic. Perhaps, something like: “It would be great to have an option to set The Events Calendar to “fast forward” to the date range of the next upcoming (future) event rather than showing “no events” for the current day/week/month.” Does that accurately represent what you’re suggesting? 🙂
