ParticipantMaybe coincidentally, maybe not, but since I upgraded to WP3.6, photos are not showing up in any new events posted to my blog http://DougBardwell.com. Photos posted prior to that update (last week) still show up but recent ones do not. The photos don’t show in either the Picture View or on the individual event pages. No other plugins have been added or updated recently, so I doubt that could have anything to do with it. Any suggestions?

MemberHi photodb,
Can you give me the URL of a single event that definitely does have a featured image (so I can be sure I’m looking at one of the affected events) – and could you also provide a screenshot of the same event in the event editor, ideally including the featured image meta box?
Although it’s not possible to upload images directly to the forum you can link to files hosted elsewhere (either on your own blog or on a service like Dropbox or Droplr).
Thanks!

ParticipantHere’s one I just did: http://dougbardwell.com/db/event/gifts-gulu-highland-heights-ohio/
Here’s the link to the screengrab: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9490643/Gifts%20edit%20page.jpg
Here’s the graphic that I used for the feature photo: http://dougbardwell.com/db/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Guku.jpg
In its place, the Alt tag is showing up on the page and it’s linked to here: http://i2.wp.com/dougbardwell.com/db/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Guku.jpg?resize=600%2C450September 11, 2013 at 8:27 am #65478photodb
ParticipantForgot that I had recently updated Jetpack. Deactivated it just now and presto – problem solved.
I want to turn it back on, but I guess I was looking for a solution from the wrong camp. Sorry.September 11, 2013 at 9:56 am #65487Barry
MemberNo problem at all – are there any particular settings in place (with Jetpack) that seem to trigger this?

ParticipantReally wish I knew. I just deactivated the entire Jetpack plugin to test it and when I saw that my images were back, I left it deactivated. Some morning in the wee hours, I may try playing with it and looking for the culprit.
I’m slightly remembering reading something about WordPress hosting photos for us to speed page loads and I’m guessing that could be the reason for the changed url’s and subsequent missing photos. Just not sure.September 12, 2013 at 3:57 pm #65690Barry
MemberOK – we do actually have Jetpack on our list of incompatible plugins although we weren’t aware of this particular problem occurring. Although I can’t guarantee anything we’ll hopefully have an opportunity to assess what’s happening and what might be going wrong at some future point.
For the time being though I’m afraid there’s not too much we can offer at this time (and so I’ll go ahead and close this thread – of course if you have any other issues please create a new thread or threads as needed 🙂 ).
