    Hi
Is there any way to determine what Google displays as the page title in their results? When I searched recently for events in my area my website ranked number 2 but the page title was showing as Past Events – (and my website name) despite it going to my up to date calendar.
I use SEO by Yoast plugin and have my title for Custom Post Type Archives Events set to Upcoming %%pt_plural%% Whats On %%sep%% %%sitename%% which shows up in the browser tabs fine but I am concerned that with Google showing the title as Past Events it may put people off clicking on it.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Linda.

I can point you to https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ and https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ to test how Google and Facebook read your page’s markup (testing 1 link at a time, not your entire site).

However, you’d need to deactivate Yoast SEO plugin to see if it’s that or our plugin that’s affecting the page’s markup.

If you figure it out on your own, great. If not, please provide a URL for me to test and the resolution you’re looking for at that URL.

    Thanks.
