Just wanted to let you know. I was using a temporary fix to remove the 404 Page Not Found from the page title for empty calendars. I deleted the fix when I updated to 3.0.3 but the problem was not fixed in 3.0.3. I am now getting a different ordering of the page title and it doesn’t include 404 this time, but it does include Page not found for an empty calendar. Screen capture at http://events.stcwdc.org/wp-content/uploads/june_page_not_found.png

That happened when I clicked to go back to the previous month, June. It seems to happen only for the first time an empty calendar is encountered because if I click for the previous month, May, the title is normal. Same for going forward from May back to June and then July, August, etc.
So far Webmaster Tools does not show that I generated more 404 pages but I may have to wait a day for the report to update.
I am using a Child theme of Twenty Eleven.

    Hi Cynthia,

We do have a ticket out to get this fixed in a future version but as of now do not have a solution. Please be patient while we work out a fix.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

Is there still a fix going in for this?
I have quite a few sites that run this plugin and a 404 on an empty events page doesn’t look good to google. Some times there may be no upcoming events, but this should just be a page, not a 404 page. This doesn’t help SEO.

Its a super SEO Killer we have now, generate hundreds of 404and not-found errors.

Hi there, superbigcat! Thanks for chiming in. 🙂

It looks like this thread is pretty dated and a solution was provided in a similar thread.

If you’re running the latest version of the plugins and the issue is still popping up for you after trying the provided solution, we should troubleshoot this in a new thread with a clean slate.

Before you do, I’d suggest following these steps to see if the issue can be narrowed down to a theme or plugin conflict first. If the issue still exists after you’ve tested for conflicts, open a new thread and we’d be happy to help you out. I’ll close this thread in the meantime. 🙂

    Cheers!
    Geoff
