ParticipantCalendar option is working well, and is auto importing from Facebook.
When I click on the Calendar item though, the event is not loading and displays Page Not Found – This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?
I can resolve this by deactivating the plugin, and re activating this, however was wondering if this can be resolved, or is a known error?January 10, 2014 at 3:55 am #90045Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHi russkeys,
I haven’t seen other reports of that, so I don’t think it’s a known error.
Can you look in your backend and find the event, say the one on Feb 6th, and let me know what the permalink should be for the event? I can see what it’s trying to link to, but I’m not sure what the correct URL is supposed to be. Also, you did change the permalinks under Settings > Permalinks to the Post Name option, right?

ParticipantHi there,
Thanks for your response. I have checked out the permalinks and they are setup for Post-Name.

The error was still appearing, and then after I ran the update latest software plugin update, it was working again for a period of time.
After around 5 minutes, that site reverted back to the error. I have disabled all other plugins, and are running the default theme.
Your assistance with this would be great, as the club is losing faith in the plugin, as this is impacting our ability to advertise events with Facebook.

ParticipantHey russkeys,
This sounds more like a general plugin issue than one specific to the Facebook Importer. I’m going to move it over to our PRO forum and assign it to someone who has been looking into these types of issues lately. He’ll get in touch with you shortly.

MemberHi! I’m sorry first of all that you are hitting these issues, we definitely want to help you out here if we can.

My suspicion is that this is indeed stemming from a conflict with another plugin. I appreciate you carrying out the above steps but it looks like there are still a few other things which remain activated besides our own plugins, such as Srizon Facebook Album 1.1.4 by afzal_du, Contact People Ultimate 1.0.5 by A3 Revolution Software and possibly some others (Jetpack?).
Can you deactivate those so that there is quite literally just WordPress, our plugins and a default and unmodified theme running? Can you then visit the Settings → Permalinks admin screen – you don’t need to change or save anything, visiting it is sufficient to cause WordPress to “flush” the permalinks – then see if the currently 404ing single event pages work.
Assuming they do, please try leaving things like that for an hour or so – let’s see if this problem comes back. If it does not, let’s start reactivating the other components.
Is that possible here? Certainly if there is a conflicting item, and we can isolate it, we can begin to build a better picture of when and why this happens at a technical level.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi There,
I deactivated all plugins last night, as well as running the plugin update that your team released. The system worked for a period of time, however defaulted back after 5 mins. I have just revisited the permalinks section, and you are right, it has flushed out the system, and is working for a period of time. Unfortunately when I deactivate the plugins, I have to reconfigure the settings, and it took me a few hours last night to get everything back to how it was. I will try Srizon first and see if this is at fault, or makes any difference.

MemberGreat – we have seen a number of similar reports and so we are still looking for some sort of common bond, so any information you might uncover could be helpful in arriving at a more permanent solution for this.

ParticipantHi There,
Just to inform you that the plugin https://a3rev.com/ contact people ultimate seems to be causing the issue. can you please let me know what I can do about this, as this too is an integral part of the site, and is currently down. Rev. Contact People Ultimate 1.0.5 by A3 Revolution Software
I have had this disabled, and site seems to have been stable for the past 12-24 hours.

Memberrusskeys: thanks for going to the trouble of determining this. We’d love to take a closer look – would it be possible for you to share a link to a .zip containing that plugin (perhaps you could upload to your own website, Dropbox or Google Drive – or some similar service – and share here as a private reply)?
Thanks!

MemberMy apologies, russkeys. Unfortunately we are experiencing some glitches after making improvements to our forum/support tools. That shouldn’t have been marked private and I’ll re-post here – though really it was just to let you know we are still looking into this.
Thanks: we’ll try our best to look at that one as part of this issue and will update you again as soon as we can.

ParticipantHi There. Are you able to advise if this has been resolved? I cannot use the plugin until the issue has been resolved. Please advise next steps.

MemberI’m afraid you’re going to have wait just a little longer @russkeys, we have this on the list of things to check out and will update you as quickly as we can. Have you approached the vendor of the other plugin and have they put forward any ideas? If not, that could be worth pursuing in tandem with this thread.
