Thank you.April 15, 2014 at 10:04 am #133278Barry
MemberThank you (and apologies for the issue in the previous thread – we did have a glitch that related to private replies by staff and hopefully that will be resolved going forward).
If possible could you share your screenshot and also a .zip of your theme either by uploading both to your WordPress site or else to a service like Dropbox/Google Drive – then share the link(s) as a private reply?
Thanks!

MemberThank you: your screenshot looks very similar to something we saw reported separately and I wanted to check out the theme locally but, unfortunately, that doesn’t help me to reproduce this. I know in your last thread you indicated having tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme – can you confirm the problem still occurs under those conditions?
It looks as if execution is stopping as soon as the countdown widget starts to be rendered, but before it completes. That doesn’t necessarily mean the problem is with the Countdown Widget but it’s a good place to start. With that in mind, can you try adding the following line of code to your theme’s functions.php file and see what if any difference it makes?
remove_action( 'widgets_init', 'tribe_countdown_register_widget' );Let me know how you get on!

ParticipantI did not change to a default theme since there isn’t a dev environment (yet).
I added the code and it looks good…the widget areas came back.
We can close this thread and revisit it once I can test the theme. Thanks for your help.April 16, 2014 at 6:49 am #133875Derek
ParticipantLooking through the issues, this I assume is the same as I’m having, multiple events repeated throughout. If it helps, I have disabled all plugins, have no additional pages nor posts, no widgets (now as basic as it gets) and reverted to 2014 theme. – Still multiple entries, HELP please! D

MemberDaniella: awesome that is working (or at least provides some temporary relief). At this point I don’t think it is worth testing against the default theme – after reviewing this and a very similar thread I suspect this was a side effect of a different problem with recurring events.
Is it possible you have a number of thousand events in the system right now and might a large portion of those effectively be duplicates of one another?
April 16, 2014 at 8:49 am #133969Barry
MemberDerek: please do check out the snippet Daniella found to be effective – if it’s the same problem in your case then that ought to give you what you need to workaround this. If not, please do create a new thread so we can assist with your specific problem 🙂

ParticipantYes, there are 9,030 published events. Housekeeping Settings: 4165 events currently meet the expiry criteria.

MemberI appreciate you clarifying – thank you – we’ll definitely try to figure out what we can do here.

MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread (and I believe this has been anyway solved in our very latest release). If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
