    Hi –
The ical importer is not working. My error is “No ical found at this url” no matter what I do. I have tried with default wordpress theme and only plugins active as Events Calendar. I had my host just activate the http://pecl.php.net/package/timezonedb extension. Have tried file, url, and recurring. The only submit button I see is “search” and I cleared all fields. Please help! Jenn

    Hey Jennifer,

    Sorry you’re having trouble here!

What is the specific iCal feed URL you are supplying to the plugin?

I tried many including modern tribe’s calendar export.

    Here’s one –

    I see that this thread

[iCal Importer] "No ical found at this url" Google Calendar Import

is active and user is facing the same issue.

For us – the potential for this plugin to work is a big one. Please advise asap as I have staffing issues related to it.

    Hey Jenn,

I’m really sorry about the impact of this in your organization. I appreciate your clarification about what file you’re testing – I tested that same exact file, downloaded direct from morningside-alliance.org directly, and it worked fine for me on my site:

    scrn

One of the things I noticed you asked for in that thread with Brook is an advance copy of our new 3.12 version of the iCal importer – I cannot guarantee that this will help, of course, but I’m happy to share this with you. Please note that it will require you to also install the 3.12 “release candidates” for your other tribe plugins too, The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.

In other words, you’d have to first delete your existing versions of all three Tribe plugins, and then install the new 3.12 Release Candidates for all three plugins. Your data will not be lost by deleting the plugins. (However, it’s recommended to backup your site before any plugin, theme, or WP Core update – not just tribe plugins! 🙂 )

You should be able to find these items by going to https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/ – scroll down to the “Early Access” section which should be there for you, and download the 3.12 release candidates there.

I hope this helps Jennifer – thank you for patience and for your politeness despite these issues causing some serious hangups for your staff. I’m sorry about that and eager to help you get things working again!

    Thank you,
    George

    Hi George,

The new version did not work

With my normal site running – my error was “There was something malformed on the server. See JS for more information.”

With no other plugins and default theme, I get the “No ical” error.

    Hey Jennifer,

I’m really sorry about continued issues here – I still cannot produce any of them 🙁

Do you have any problems with simply uploading the file to, for example, your media library? If so, that could hint at permissions issues.

Also, Brook’s suggestion in that other thread may be worth trying → http://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ical-importer-no-ical-found-at-this-url-google-calendar-import/#post-1002102

I’m sorry to redirect you to that thread, just trying to find something useful here since I still can’t reproduce the problem. Your patience is superb and I’m really, really sorry about how long this thread has been going on for!

    Sincerely,
    George
