ParticipantI am using the MiniCalendar widget for all of my event categories, except ‘Ongoing Exhibitions’ and want to use the EventsList widget below to just display the previously excluded category.
It doesn’t look like the query is reset for the next widget as it currently just displays the same events as the MiniCalendar.
I have successfully used the category filter on the widget with only one in the sidebar.
Any thoughts?

MemberHi Byron,
I seem able to set up multiple widgets filtering events by separate categories and it works as expected: can you point me to a live example of the issue and drop a note of how each is configured in here?
Thanks!

The above is a link to the test domain I am working on right now. The 2nd widget should only filter events from a single event category, but I am getting some random results.

MemberThat is odd.
And just for the avoidance of any doubt the same thing occurs with no other plugins running but The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO, and only a default theme in place?
Just trying to build a better picture as to why I can’t replicate the issue.

ParticipantA little scary to activate the 2015 theme. Site looked horrible, it was empty. The widget worked as expected in the default theme.

MemberOK – so the problem is definitely introduced by your theme (and not by any other plugin, for instance)?
I wonder if perhaps they aren’t clearing up any custom queries that they might have added. It could be worth approaching the theme vendor for further assistance on this one, and highlight that the issue occurs only with their theme.
At a pinch, if you’re happy to share a downloadable zip of the theme, I could take a very quick peek but I can’t offer any guarantees as we’re fairly limited in terms of our support for third party themes.

MemberThanks for sharing!
Unfortunately nothing obvious is jumping out at me. It’s possible a particular setting needs to be in place or perhaps some other component (a slider, a widget, something of that order) is in place that I don’t have locally and has some part to play.
Perhaps it would be worth setting up a clean test installation with our plugins and your theme and see if you can detect the trigger for this behaviour? Sadly I don’t think we’re well placed or have enough information to progress it further on our side.

MemberNo problem, we typically let topics sit for around 2 weeks before closing them (assuming they receive no updates in that timeframe) 🙂

MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
