Monthly view – hide past weeks?

Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to have the monthly view start at the current week? I have figured out how to hide past events entirely from the monthly view, but when you visit the calendar and it’s towards the end of the month (say for example, now), there are a ton of empty weeks and space before you see current events. Then the current events get hidden below the fold on many screens.

As you can tell this is a site for senior citizens so we are trying to make this calendar function as simply and easily as possible. We noticed a big confusion with our test audience when past events were just “grayed” out, so that is why we are trying to eliminate them completely. I too think the “grayed out” effect is a bit confusing.

Unfortunately, there is no built in option to make the month view to start at the current week. You could try using the week view for that purpose, but I’m not sure if that’s something that works for this case.

You could try customizing the month view to suit that specific needs by using one of the methods described in our themer’s guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/. But I don’t think there is an easy way of doing so.

We are limited on the support we can give for customizations like that, but if you decide try customizing the month view and bump into any questions don’t hesitate to ask and we’d be happy to help as much possible.
