ParticipantWhen searching for events near a location, is it possible to have the search results sorted by distance (ie. show the geographically closest events first)? At the moment, when in map view, if you do a location search, it displays the search results sorted by event date, but this seems counter-intuitive when doing a location search – it would be best to sort by distance.

MemberHi there
We’re limited in helping with styling customizations, per our Scope of Support / Terms.
There may be a little help at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/how-to-sort-events-by-distance/ if you’re up for coding this yourself. Please see our Themer’s Guide as a starting point.
If you’d like to hire someone to finish this see: Custom Development
If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.
You can vote for it at http://tribe.uservoice.com.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

ParticipantI found this feature request using the link you provided:
https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/16804615-sort-events-by-distanceBut I was not able to vote on it. It was marked completed on 8 May 2018. What does that mean?

MemberHey 🙂 I checked into that feature further. It is listed as complete because it now is a feature within Filter Bar .
Check out https://wpshindig.com/events/map/?action=tribe_geosearch&tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=map&featured=false&tribe-bar-geoloc-lat=47.6062095&tribe-bar-geoloc-lng=-122.3320708&tribe-bar-geoloc=seattle&tribe_geofence=25 as an example. I searched for events near Seattle. Then in the Filter Bar, I set the distance to be within 25 miles. The results do sort based upon distance.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
