ParticipantHi forum,
1) which kind of query string in the URL lists all events of a certain organizer? We want to link from the menu directly to all events of an organizer. But using “?tribe_organizer=name-of-organizer-here” yields in an almost empty page. Not even organizer details are shown.
2) saving data from organizers we often get some “auto-draft” as slug for organizers (“?tribe_organizer=auto-draft”). How can we change this in order to reflect the name of the organizer? (In German: “automatisch-gespeicherter-entwurf”)

MemberHi Heinz,
Do you have pretty permalinks enabled in Settings–>Permalinks? That may solve both problems.
If you’d like to make a menu item with events from a specific organizer, the best way to go is to use the Organizers box on the Menu page (http://d.pr/i/OKov). Select the organizer(s) you want to link to and click Add to Menu.
If you are still having the auto-draft problem after double checking pretty permalinks, could you provide us some specific steps to recreate the problem? Also, if you have a test or demo site available, it would help us to know if the same thing occurs when you have deactivated other plugins and reverted to the default Twenty Eleven theme. From there we’ll be able to begin more in-depth troubleshooting.
Cheers,

ParticipantThank you. Question 2) is solved, since the meta box to change the slug was hidden.
Question 1) unfortunately is still open. Using the menu way we get URLs like http://our-domain/?tribe_organizer=name-of-organizer. But these pages are always empty, even if there are events organized by this organizer in the future. We are we are using the Genesis framework by Studiopress, but switching to Twenty Eleven yields in the same result.

MemberForgive me Heinz, I wasn’t thinking it through when I answered that question. Adding an organizer page from the menu option does not give you a list of that organizer’s events. As you are probably experiencing, that only gives you a page with the organizers name and, if comments are enabled, a comment box. I assume that’s what you mean by an “almost empty page”?
We don’t yet have an organizer page like the one you want built into the plugin. Really, we should remove that box from the menu builder until we add the feature. That’s totally our bad. I’m very sorry for the confusion, and I’ll get that taken care of ASAP. Meanwhile, if you want a list of all events by one organizer I’m afraid you’ll need to do some custom coding.
I apologize again for my mistake and the lack of the feature. Hopefully we’ll get that in an upcoming release since it would be a very useful feature to include.

ParticipantThank you Lea, for the information.
Can your programmers provide some basic php code, which could be used as a starter by me?Sincerely

MemberHi Heinz,
I’m sorry, but that’s beyond what we’re able to provide with support. We’ve got somewhat limited resources so we are generally not able to help out with heavy customizing like that. Sorry we can’t be of more assistance.
Good luck,

MemberJust wanted to follow-up here, Heinz, to confirm also that the ORGANIZERS panel on the Menu screen has been removed from the code, and I just tested as much to confirm this. We’ll have that released in the next maintenance build, which is coming very soon. Stay tuned on that end…and for designated frontend organizer pages sometime in the 3.0 lifecycle as well!
Cheers, and please let us know what else you need down the road.
